The CP33 from Yamaha is an 88-key professional stage piano, and part of the high-quality CP series of products. The keyboard features the advanced Graded Hammer Effect action, which creates an authentic acoustic piano feel. Stereo samples of high-quality instruments provide the voices of the CP33 and include subtle touches such as string resonance, sustain, and key-off to provide a realistic piano sound. Other voices include organ, guitar, and more.

A full compliment of controls is provided on the CP33. You'll find everything from pitch and modulation wheels to two pedal inputs and two dedicated zone sliders. Perfect for use on stage or in a studio, the CP33 is lightweight for excellent portability without sacrificing quality. A special mono piano sound with compression has been designed specially for stage use, allowing you to stand out in full band situations.

Other features of the CP33 include a panel lock, which prevents unwanted settings changes, built-in effects such as reverb and chorus, comprehensive MIDI functions, and a USB connector for recording your performances to a computer. For the serious player who needs a full feature set in a portable unit, the CP33 is a great option.

Perfect for my needs

Comments about Yamaha CP33 - Professional 88-Key Stage Piano:

I wanted a weighted full size (88 keys) keyboard that sounded descent for home practice. This fit my needs perfectly.

It doesn't have an amp/speakers so I have to use my headphones or plug it into my home sound system. Personally, this is a bonus on weight/space/cost savings.

The sound quality is good, not exceptional.
The feel of the keys is excellent.
It's adjustable enough to make it responsive the way you want it responsive.

Overall, I think it's a very good keyboard for not a lot of money.

Comments about Yamaha CP33 - Professional 88-Key Stage Piano:

As a film composer who frequently works with recording into computers, I needed something with a good feel as well as something that was sturdy and within a certain price range. This keyboard fit all of those requirements and has wonderful built-in sounds (especially the piano ones). Comes with a sturdy pedal (not just one of those little square plastic ones). The feel isn't exactly like a real grand, but it's an electric keyboard, and does pretty well considering. Works great with USB (I use a mac). NO built-in speakers, but hooks up to outside speakers.

Comments about Yamaha CP33 - Professional 88-Key Stage Piano:

I use this in a small apartment and it is great because it sounds and feels like a grand piano, but you can plug in headphones and not bother the neighbors.
Despite this, I have had significant difficulty using a MIDI connection to my iMAC and have not been able to connect it to GarageBand. Additionally, be aware that it does not come with speakers and that you need to buy these separately
