This battery lasts and lasts and is the only way to go for 8pfs on your D700 of D300. Case in point: I recently had to shoot a whole day of YAFL football - I was able to use this battery for 12.5 hrs straight (with no image review) and i wound up taking 4500 pictures with about 5% of the battery life still available. Amazing!

This Nikon battery is the workhorse of my D3s. I have had my camera for over a year and a half, I use it every day and this is the first replacement battery I have had to purchase. Actually I don't need it I just wanted a backup. The life of the battery fits my shooting needs and I would reccomend it to anyone who shoots Nikon.

Bought this battery for the Vello BG-N1 Batter Grip for the Nikon D-700. It works great in the Vello grip and allows me to use the D-700 at a full 8 FPS for football and other sports coverage. I tested it with a stopwatch and it actually drives the D-700 at 8.3 FPS!

For several years, I have owned a Nikon D2X, which I have used professionally. The original EN-EL4a battery is STILL working well, although the battery's life gauge now shows it due for replacement. The battery, which charges quickly (especially for such a high capacity battery) has been a standout feature of my D2X experience with its great capacity giving a full day's use. Because the genuine Nikon battery has been so good, it is excellent value for money - despite its (apparently high) price and is the reason I am replacing it with another genuine battery.

As a semi-professional photographer it is important to have back-ups for key pieces of equipment. The EN-EL4 battery is a backup for my Nikon D3S.

Sports photography, shooting raw images. The last event I did, the temperature was in the teens with windchill around 0.0F. Between two batteries I took around 4000 photos...I still had juice left in both; but made a switch when the action slowed. I have not tried non-NIKON batteries; but reading others comments, it is best to use the manufacturers product.

I use this battery with a grip on my D700. Prior to buying this, I was using rechargeable AA batteries and when I used a gas guzzling telephoto lens like the 400 2.8, I would run out of power much too quickly. Now I can shoot for the day and feel comfortable that I can continue taking pictures. I now use the AA battery pack as a backup.

I've tried batteries by other manufacturers, and they all seem to die early. I've used the original Nikon batteries as a primary power for non-stop studio shooting for years. Totally dependable.

I have a few of these batteries to use in my D3s and D300s. They do exactly that they are supposed to do, I never have to think about them and that's a good thing. The only times I have had to swap them during a shoot was either shooting football or action sports sequences, really frame heavy stuff. They seem to hold up to rough/improper handling pretty well, I know I have dropped one a time or two and they do OK in the cool as well. I have read a few reviews commenting on the high price; well, they slot in at 2.2% of the current cost of a D3S and 5.6% the cost of a D300s+grip, by comparison the battery for a D3100 is currently about 5.8% the cost of that body, so I wouldn't be too critical to the price. The performance and durability are worth it.

This product arrived quickly and holds a strong charge in challenging shooting environments. Given the cost of my D700 I would not trust a generic battery. It eliminates the need to carry around all the Lithium Ion AA batteries.

This is the original Nikon battery and not a cheap aftermarket battery. I never use aftermarket batteries on my gear because I do not want to save a couple dollars on the battery and have a battery problem that could destroy my camera. Aftermarket batteries have been known to blow up and catch on fire destroying cameras phones etc. why take a chance with your valuable camera just to save $50 or so on a battery.
