The Sony HKSR-5003 4:4:4 RGB Processor Board is an optional accessory interface board for SRW-5000 and SRW-5500 VTRs. When installed, it offers the ability to record and play back uncompressed 4:4:4 full bandwidth signals via the dual link SDI connections on the HDCAM SR deck. This board intrinsically meets the high demands of high-profile video operations often required by HDCAM/HDCAM SR studios, compositing suites, and digital mobile units.
- Provides 4:4:4 RGB record/playback capability in HDCAM SR format; 4:4:4 recording is competitive with 2K data for high-end archiving and digital intermediate workflows
- 4:4:4 color resolution is ideal for compositing purposes such as chroma keying, due to the massive amount of color information provided through its data stream
- An increased level of latitude is also a benefit to higher color resolution; this translates into footage that is a lot easier to color correct during post sessions
