The PocketWizard Plus II Transceiver/Relay is a triggering system that offers Auto-Sensing Transceiver Technology. This technology analyzes the status of the Plus II's miniphone jacks, camera hot shoe or the TEST button to determine which mode (Transmit or Receive) to set itself. By default, the Plus II is always in Receiver mode unless it senses a trigger pulse from a camera's hot shoe. It then quickly switches to Transmitter mode. The Auto-Sensing feature can also be disabled, if necessary.
This unit can also be used as a relay. You can remotely trigger your camera, and the camera-mounted transceiver automatically relays the triggering signal to a remote flash. With the Plus II's fast switching speed, there's no loss of camera shutter speed performance or triggering delays.
Note: Our PocketWizard radio devices operate on the U.S. frequency of 344MHz. PocketWizard radio devices operating on one frequency cannot operate with PocketWizard devices on a different radio frequency. PocketWizard will not ship devices to markets that use a different frequency and cannot provide proper warranty service for products shipped out of their intended market.
Note! This is one unit only. A minimum of two units are required.

I started investing in P.W transceivers to help free up some mobility while shooting. As a wedding photographer I have to be on the go, and I rely on the ability to move quickly. Using pocket wizards is the best way to do this. I never have to worry about them, they are reliable and durable, and extremely easy to use. I prefer P.W's because I can physically replace the battery. Other less expensive models have rechargeable batteries and honestly that makes me worry about the battery life. If you are thinking about getting into radio's go this route.

I was very excited to recieve my wizards but after opening the first box I thought B and H had sent me the wrong order, not at all. For [$] I wish I could get an aluminium cased remote device.. I've purchased four of these Plus II models and two of them have snapped hot shoe mounts already.. I originally bought these remote slaves because they are supposedly the best but the design is FRAIL.

My third Plus II hit the ground running. More complex lighting setups are now possible. Just a great piece of equipment that works as advertised.

I researched for a long time before buying this one. I owned a cheap one earlier as you would expect it stopped working after some time. This time I was looking for something that can last for atleast couple of years but didnt want to spend a fortune either.
I have used this PW for one shoot so far (with over 100 images) and very pleased the quality and consistency of the equipment. I hope it stays the same after another couple of thousand images ;-)

Comments about PocketWizard Plus II Transceiver / Radio Slave:
I've used the Pocketwizard transceivers for several years as a contract photographer for the US Air Force. I've used it to trigger flash units lighting small table top displays and as large as multiple acre indoor sporting venues. I've never once been disappointed! The reliability of these units is exceptional. It frees me from the worry of if the flash will fire and allows me to concentrate on composing and capturing the shot. I wish I had a dime for every photographer I've recommended it to.

I use the Plus II Transceiver with the TT5 hotshoe to connect my camera with my external flash. (Nikon D7000 with the SB700) so I don't have to use my on camera flash to fire the SB700. Because of the Pocket Wizard I never worry whether or not my flash will fire - even through doorways or around corners.

Reliable ..... not much else to say . But , to me , the most important requierment in a demanding studio enviorment .
Only complaint would be that it has some size to it . But honestly, never been an issue

I recently received my PocketWizards and have used them at a couple of basketball games already. I wish I had bought them much earlier. I would recommend them to everyone. They fire seamlessly and are very easy to use. Just placed one on your camera and the other on your light source and begin shooting. That's all there is to it. They do cost a good bit but once you start shooting with them they really pay off. They let you do things with your camera you could do no other way.

I've learned there a few things in life that you can't go with for knock offs or generics. Toilet paper and Triggers for me.
These are reliable, fit perfect to my Canon 40D and 580EXIIs and go with my boots(oops, PW review, not jeans)
No more cables or cheapie triggers for me. I'm in love.

I'm just scratching the surface as far as my PocketWizards are concerned, but so far they haven't disappointed. I'd been doing some speedlight portrait work using the built-in flash in commander mode, but those with light-sensitive eyes would blink from the initial flash emanating from my camera. Problem solved!

Comments about PocketWizard Plus II Transceiver / Radio Slave:
The II Transceivers haven't failed me yet. I can't say that all of my encounters with PW Equipment are so good as I have a receiver (OLD) that no longer receives beyond 5 feet and a MultiMax that only receives.. So there have been some issues in the past, but seems all their more recent equipment is free of these issues.

As soon as I received the package in the mail, I opened up the Pocket Wizard Plus II Transceivers, put the batteries in, attached one to my camera, the other to my flash and was ready to shoot. They consistently fire every time I press the shutter and they are a breeze to set up. I would highly recommend these triggers.

Worth every penny and they do cost a bit. These things have opened a new world of possibilities with off camera lighting. Not having to use a sync cord is like a dog being let off the leash. They're outstanding and they work, when I turn it on and get it all set, I'm 100% confident that the flash is going to fire.

Comments about PocketWizard Plus II Transceiver / Radio Slave:
I have had the Canon Transmitter that is used with the Canon speed lights for some time now, and found the system to be troublesome outside because the infrared failed. It was too bright. Or sometimes something was blocking the sight line. With Pocket Wizards, I o longer have those problems. They are soooo easy to use. Put one in the shoe mount and plug the other into the speed light and you get a flash every time, no matter where you are standing or how bright is outside.
I use these also in place of the flash cord in the studio. No more having to be careful where I'm stepping. I am surprised at how light weight they are. And I can see how easy it might be to damage one of them, being that they are plastic. But they are great to have. And they give you 4 separate channels to choose from.
I'm so glad I made the small investment.
