Gefen FireWire Repeater 800
The FireWire Repeater 800 from Gefen is a repeater that allows you to increase the distance between your computer and a FireWire device by up to 33' (10 m). With one repeater, you can place a device up to 66' (20 m) from a computer. Repeaters can be daisy-chained for distances of up to 250' (76 m). The repeater is powered by a 9-Pin FireWire-800 port on your computer, although an optional AC adapter can be connected when a computer cannot provide enough power. So far no issues... It works as it should, drawing power from the firewire input. I've been using it with a 30' combined cable length and it's working great. The plastic housing is not beautiful but it feels quite sturdy and should stand up to the abuse this gets on my studio floor.
