The CD-102 comes with a 1-year limited warranty that's honored even when the CD player is used by students in schools, making it a great educational tool. Just install 2 'AA' batteries and the CD-102 is ready to go. You also have the option to power the player using the included power adapter. The unit's LCD display provides CD and battery information, while the onboard buttons allow for easy control. Controls include: play/pause, stop, program, repeat, and skip/search. I was excited to get this product so that i could play my cd's while at work. The product came very well wrapped and rather quickly, but i was instantly disappointed when i tried to turn it on. It was completely dead, i even tried it with the batteries alone instead of the AC adapter and nothing. I had to send it back and look for something else to take to my office. I gave this product 1 start but i'm not sure it deserves it.

The package arrived today and i was too excited to finally have something like this in my office, but unfortunately the thing won't even power on! I tried everything and it hasn't turned on once. I will definitely be returning this product, i'm so disappointed!

This item is used for several hours daily within an educational setting. The earphones are able to be sanitized after each use. The AC adapter is how we use the product and some CD's I looked at had the AC jack, but you had to purchase the adapter separately. The sound is great, the product is durable and can withstand constant use, and it's very user friendly. We would purchase this item again in the future.

I use this for listening to my cd collection, when I don't feel like using my computers. My unit has a different top plate, as seen on the Califone site. It has very powerful audio. The bad points: With the supplied headphones, there is little bass, unless you use BASS BOOST. Even then, there is not much improvement. If you use quality phones, the bass is OK with the boost on. A big problem is that it did not play my computer made discs, and, more importantly, one commercial title, so far. (My older players do!!) I don't understand their information on what media you can play. I probably need to buy CDs made for music, to use my computer. The program play mode is awkward. Let's say you go to track 5. When you enter it-and it is recorded ok, but the track counter goes back to 00 and you have to move forward, past 5 to get to the next track to program. The built quality is suspect--for use in schools? I doubt it!! Another point about the headphones, the cups do not fit flat on my ears. I feel that this is just another cheap chineese import.

I am very please with the controls and ease of use, as well as the good set of headphones and DC
power supply. Would have liked it better if there had been two output jacks for headphones, or even an audio-out in addition to the headphone jack.

I spent a long time trying to find a portable cd player with an AC/DC connection and am pleased with this. The sound is good, esp. when the bass boost is used. For me I just use it with my Bose wave which is an older model before they included a cd player.

This player is a bargain ! It is designed well, operates intuitively, comes with a very good headset and easy to understand instructions. It feels solidly built and does play cd-r discs which I burn on my computer.
