Delkin Pop-Up Shades are LCD screen protective covers, which double as glare guards. These sturdy, lightweight covers are easily installed (and removed), protect a digital camera's expensive LCD screen in the closed position, and pop up to provide easier viewing of the display in bright sunlight.
The Point & Shoot Mini Shade features a no residue adhesive that will not damage the camera if removed and an optical clear glass to protect your camera's screen. The simple pop-up design allows for easy opening to block the glare. The two-part design enables easy removal of the shade while keeping the optical clear glass in place for protection.

I also found a problem with the Pop-Up Shade slipping off of the base which attaches to the camera with double-side tape. The shade ended up on the ground twice. What I did was take one tiny drop of Lock-Tite Super Glue and place one dot of glue on the base between the shade and the base (only) in 3 spots...then put the shade on the base and let the glue dry completely. Voila', works beautifully. I purchased the shade for my disabled husband's Pentax Optio T-20...and it works fantastic. When the shade is lifted to open, it pops open, and then you only need to slightly press in on the side shade blades and it easily closes with no problem. The shade remains closed until you gently lift on it, and it does not open accidentally. Now that it is slightly adhered by the use of little tiny drops of glue to the base, it works with no problems at all. (The base is placed on the camera itself by use of double-side tape...the shade used to pop off the base, for it is detachable...I made it where it cannot detach, that is all.) It comes with a view-through glass to protect your LCD in the base. My husband's camera is a touch-screen hybrid LCD camera, so I had to remove the glass. It does remove with very patient care, but you must work at it to remove it...in other words, it will not come out accidentally. The shade is great, and with the glass removed, my husband can easily use his touch-screen with no problems. The shade itself protects the LCD when it is closed, making the shade very useful for more than just blocking the excess light from the screen to make it viewable. When closed, the shade becomes a protection of armour for the LCD.
Expertise: High-level amateur. College photography: 35mm film and Digital.
Problems Encountered: Just as IP from Israel stated, the shade does slip off of the base. It happened to ours within the first 15 minutes of use, 2 times. I used a tiny drop of super glue to keep it adhered to the base only...(not to the camera). This solved the problem altogether. The shade to base problem is the only design flaw encountered. The shade works great, and with just a tiny pin-point of glue in a couple of places between the base and shade rim...the problem was solved.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Needed a shade badly, used an umbrella and held it over the camera trying to block excess sunlight before purchasing this LCD shade.
Items I Recommend: A large volume Memory Card, because once you can see the LCD screen by using this shade, you will find yourself taking more pictures.

I really like the product application. It really helps with viewing and taking pictures.A plus that I did not know about when I bought it was that I am able to take off the pop up part of the shade for cleaning without having to remove the back plate. Neat Idea!
That being said, I am disappointed with the product...it is really flimsy; the First time I used it one of the side panels came off with just a light brush against my body. This happened while I held the camera down to place subjects, making me wish there was a sturdier product available...otherwise I would give it a 5 Star rating s it really worked well.

Great when you need shade for those sunny outdoor shoots but too bad, it has to be permanent. If it was rigged to pop off and on would be ideal. Shooting indoor concerts, the shade is definitely not something you want permanently stuck onto the LCD.
And lot of times, these kind of stick on add ons have to glued down with more stronger adhesive or they keep popping off from hot studio lights or heated camera.

I love this product. It helps protect the screen on my camera but more so it helps 100% with the glare from the bright Florida sun! I can always see how my picture tuns out right there instead of finding somewhere in the shade to try to see my pictures. I also love that you can remove the shade if you need to to clean the screen etc. This is the 4th camera I have bought this for. My first one finally broke after about 3 or 4 years using it at least once a week if not more. Great value for the $$

This is great in bright sunshine and it protects the LCD screen when not in use. A friend saw mine and asked for the ordering info.

A must for using a P&S digital camera without an eyelevel finder. Easy to set-up, easy to use, extremely convenient. Protects the LCD screen from scratches superbly.
Cons: a) slips off the base frequently; use a couple of cyanoacrylate(super-glue)drops if it becomes a nuisance -not my case.
b) My model has a protective glass pane for the LCD. While probably a bonus against scratches, it causes newton rings in the center of the screen wich are quite distracting. I had to improvise a pair of plastic wedges to force the glass pane to separate from the LCD screen.
c) The 3" model crops a few mm from the screen. No big deal but bad design nevertheless.

I highly recomend, especially like that it is removable from its frame for shots when you dont need it. Buy one for each of your cameras. You will love the way it works, easily closed with one hand.
Comments about Delkin Devices eFilm Point & Shoot Mini Pop-Up Shade for 3.0" LCD Display (Silver):
I bought this for my lumix tz5 predominantly to protect the screen and because it was said to be 'easily removed'. In fact it involves sticking the shade to the screen with a double sided tape so in my mind, not so easily removed. It also reduces the visible portion of the large screen the Tz5 has so I never even put it on.

Cheaply made. I thought it would at least be aluminum but was actually cheap plastic and looked tacky. The viewport was scratched and it did not fit my G9 screen.

Comments about Delkin Devices eFilm Point & Shoot Mini Pop-Up Shade for 3.0" LCD Display (Silver):
Overall the shade only partially protects the screen from light (I am using it on a Sony DSC H-5 DC). Under some conditions one can mount the shade up-side down for better ease of viewing the screen.
Problems Encountered: It's main problem is that the shade slides off its base very, very easily. I have lost it a number of times and luckily found it after extensive searches. The last time it slid and dropped to the ground I was not so lucky.I stepped on it accidentally and broke one of the side shades. Subsequently I stopped using it, except to protect my camera screen.
Previous Equivalent Items Owned: A 2.5 shade. It also tended tp slide off but less readily.
