Archival Methods White Linen Tape is perfect for hinging window mats, map or pamphlet folders or for bookbinding applications.
The artwork is not finished until the print is correctly matted. Traditional tape (adhesive or otherwise) will lead to corrosion and gradual degradation of your mat. What is needed for true archival protection, is an archival tape that will not injure the mat. Archival Methods Linen Tape provides that medium.
Note! Linen tape should not be used directly on artwork. The thickness of the linen and the strength of the adhesive make this type of tape a poor choice for hinging artwork. Unfortunately this product was recommended for hinging artwork in some literature in the past

This tape requires you to add water in order for the tape to become sticky. It's hard to determine the correct ratio of water to tape and can be too wet or not enough easily. I stopped using this tape and purchased a tape with removable backing that is self adhesive.
