Archival Methods Slide Sleeve for 35mm - Scratched or damaged slides are often ruined. Furthermore, fingerprints do them no good. Also, mounted 35mm slides are more difficult to clean than larger formats and thus are more easily damaged. It is, therefore, necessary to always keep stored originals or even dupes in protective sleeves. Our sleeves can be used with all card and plastic, non-glass mounts (glass mounts obviously provide their own protection and sleeves are not needed).
Note! Slides should always be removed from sleeves before projection
- Slide sleeves are sealed along the 2" dimension and open at the slightly wider ends; This permits slides to be easily and safely inserted
- Slides stay in place during viewing or filing
- Sleeves are made of archivally safe, clear 2 mil Polyester (Melinex 516 DuPont's replacement for Mylar D)
- These optically clear sleeves allow viewing, editing or inspection without removal
- Polyester will not interact with film and prevents interaction between adjacent slides during long-term storage
