The Impact 16 Channel Radio Slave Transmitter is designed to trigger strobes wirelessly. This system works in tandem with most AC powered strobe packs or monolights. There are no batteries in the receiver to worry about during a busy photo shoot.

Sixteen channels offer more than ample avoidance of local radio interference, and total freedom from dragging around a sync cord. Sixteen channels also provide the opportunity to assign different groupings of lights their own channel, to be triggered by switching the channel in the transmitter that mounts on a camera's hot shoe.

The transmitter is powered by an included 23A, 12 volt alkaline battery. The battery has a lifespan of  +/-10,000 flashes, because the transmitter only draws power from it when it is firing.

Works with digital or film cameras.
Effective range is 150', line-of-sight.
Streamlined and lightweight
Voltage 12V DC (GBA23)
Dimensions Transmitter: 3 x 1.75 x 1.5" (7.6 x 4.4 x 3.8 cm)
Weight Transmitter: 2.5 oz (0.8 g)

Comments about Impact AC 16 Channel Radio Slave Transmitter:

I've used this trigger for 2 years, both inside and outside, and all on the original battery. This thing just plain works. To my knowledge I've never had a misfire that I could trace back to this trigger. Due to the lightweight construction, I've always been very careful with it. Dropped it yesterday from a height of 4ft onto a concrete floor and it hasn't worked since, even trying a new battery. Nothing is visibly broken and no rattles when I shake it, just doesn't work. I can't complain since it's lasted for 2 years at such a great price. However, I would like to see it in a little more durable case so I don't have to baby it so much. Oh well, time to order my new one!

No lag between shots. Fires my monolights every time. I have used it up to a 1/250 shutter speed. This is just what I needed. Who wants to deal with a sync cord?

Comments about Impact AC 16 Channel Radio Slave Transmitter:

For the price, I am quite happy with this product. It's easy to use and setup, and has been 100% reliable for me.

The construction feels very flimsy and not knowing the battery life is a little concerning, but with batteries on hand (I've used it for about 8 months now and I'm still using the original battery) I'm not too worried.

The other issue is that with the 5D I get some noise along the top 20 pixels of the frame. This is easily cropped out and has never effected the image beyond the top several pixels. With my 7D, there is not such effect.

These work great...as i don't have any other way of reliably setting off the monos I use with this.

          Light and easy to use.

Some more instructions (i.e. replacing a battery) would have been nice.

I travel quite a bit and my lights have to come with me. I was looking for inexpensive slaves and recievers. and low and behold here they are. the only problem I have it the Mono plug step down is cheap but you can buy replacements at any electroic store for under $5-..

I got this, have used this with my D80 and a D200

Found it works great, one issue is it will not work well with the D700 I have, the D700 pushes out more data than other nikons so it cannot flash higher than 200th of a sec, other than that its a dream to use

Comments about Impact AC 16 Channel Radio Slave Transmitter:

I loved having the transmitter and eliminating one more cord. However, I think I left my first one at a church, so I'm getting a second one!

This transmitter is very convenient, and very easy to use. It's nice to have because it gives you a lot more freedom if you're shooting hand held. There's no batteries to change, and I'd definitely recommend it.

Comments about Impact AC 16 Channel Radio Slave Transmitter:

This is a great product for a good price. I use this radio slave system in my studio, attached to my Canon camera bodies and transmitted to my Norman power pack. It has eliminated the sync cord. This allows me to move around the shooting area easily and with increased safety. The transmitter unit is built a little bit too delicately, so if you drop it on a concrete floor it could easily crack the case. This happened to me, but I just glued it back together again. This unit goes a long, long time on it's battery power. (months) I would like to see a DC system made by this manufacturer at a similar low price for use out on location when AC power is not available to power the receiver. I would use this type of DC system with battery operated portable flash used off camera.

I have two of these transmitters and four recievers and they work great. No need for AA batteries. I use them to light a large ballroom and the they sync fine. Very low profile compared to my Pocket Wizards. The only downside is they can only be used plugged in.
