Not much you can say about these. They connect the mic to the battery holder and hot shoe mount part of the mic. Mine were extremely cracked, but somehow still hanging on, however, the mic tilted pretty far to the side as the rubber had stretched over the life of the mic.
These new rubber bands are improved. Instead of just being simple rubber rings, they now have molded ends that go on one side or the other. This makes the rings both easier to replace, and I'd bet that it holds in place a little better.
If you need replacement rings for your Rode Videomic, these are the thing. These will not fit the Rode Stereo Videomic or the Rode Videomic Pro.

Comments about Rode VideoMic Silicone Replacement Bands:
They are rubber bands. They work. Just watch out when storing the videomic so that it doesn't happen often.

Comments about Rode VideoMic Silicone Replacement Bands:
I love my Rode mic. I trashed two of the shock mount rubber bands climbing onto a boat with my camera rig around my neck. I managed to survive the next two days but i'll never be caught without a spare set again.

Comments about Rode VideoMic Silicone Replacement Bands:
After 5 years the original bands on my Videomic were rotting away. I wanted to start using the mic with my new D5 but it wouldn't work without new Bands. I was pleasantly surprised to find replacements on the B&H website and I ordered them expecting the bands to be identical to the originals. They weren't. They were better. They're molded now to give them better strength and durability. Rode did a great job on this small item. Even if your old bands are good think about a replacement pair. You'll need them one day.

So I have the rode videomic and these little buggers are a pain. They break easily, but they get the job done. This is a draw back to the microphone and these things aren't cheap. Its a good thing to have on set.

Comments about Rode VideoMic Silicone Replacement Bands:
The RODE mics are a great mic for the money...except that the silicone bands are CONSTANTLY snapping. I now carry at least one pack of these per mic so I don't end up stringing rubber bands all over the place to hold the thing together.

These bands are a life saver if you need clean audio from your Rode mic. They seem to hold up pretty well if you keep your mic in a hard case.

Comments about Rode VideoMic Silicone Replacement Bands:
My biggest gripe about the Rode VideoMic is that these silicon bands don't last very long. They get brittle, dry out, and start making noise. A lot of noise. So then you have to replace them. In my case, it happened inside of a year of use. That seems like a design flaw to me.

Comments about Rode VideoMic Silicone Replacement Bands:
These bands work great and it's almost required to buy replacement bands if using the videomic in any serious capacity. They break all the time! The videomic comes with a few replacement bands but I'd recommend getting more for back up.I took off one star due to the price. I find it hard to believe it costs [$] per band. But what can you do?

Comments about Rode VideoMic Silicone Replacement Bands:
A significant improvement to the original design, these new soft elastic silicone bands stabilize and isolate the microphone noticeably better. The first thing you'll notice is the design: not simply an "O" ring, each band is designed for a specific orientation with respect to the mount and microphone. Having lived with these new bands installed, I am only sorry the old bands lasted as long as they did - if you have basic "O" rings this is a worthwhile upgrade consideration.

When you break those fragile bands on the Rode mike, they have to be replaced. These are very adequate.
