The Panasonic SDR-S150 3-CCD SD Camcorder is much more than just a replacement for the Panasonic's popular SDR-S100. At first glance the SDR-S150 features seem to be the same with its Leica Dicomar lens, 10x optical zoom, 3.1Mp still mode, and a 2.8" LCD screen, but Panasonic made a few changes that have a great impact on this camcorder. The Dual-Engine processor captures moving images with such incredible precision that images caught in LP mode have the same level of resolution as those caught in standard SP mode. Panasonic also upgraded the image stabilizer to an Optical Image Stabilizer and is the first camcorder to take advantage of the SDHC memory card. All in all this is a great camera at a price that wont leave you pinching your pocketbook.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-S150 3-CCD SD Camcorder:
For me, this is the best (and one of the few) options for someone which needs a pocket combination of camcorder and photo camera. More recent models are for sure smaller and offer better video performance, but lack the photo quality of this device. If a good 3.2Mp camera is OK for you, and like me is tired of carrying 2 devices (camcorder and photo camera) on your vacation or sport event, please consider this camcorder.
For sure the shooting position is kind of strange when you start, but after a full morning using it, there is no more problem. For pictures the 10x zoom is a feature you can hardly find on photo cameras for the same price. Video quality is excelent if you do not care about HD. The SD storage make it lighter than my old photo camera, and is very easy to download its content to the PC.
Weak points? For me, not being able to zoom in pictures when you are in view mode. Pictures with sunset light are also difficult to get in auto mode. And the battery life, which can be solved by an addtional battery pack ($20 if you do not by the original from Panasonic).

Comments about Panasonic SDR-S150 3-CCD SD Camcorder:
Great camera- we use this as a family camera- both for video and for still shots.
It is easy to shoot with and to switch back and forth.
The software with it is not written very clearly- in particular the downloading instructions for the video.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-S150 3-CCD SD Camcorder:
I'm using this product for documenting my travels.
Photo quality during day is excellent. Photo quality at night, though, is another story. Flash levels are higher than usual digital cameras when taking stills, but flash level can be adjusted. All of my night shots are blurry unless I hold down the button lightly for a few seconds...and this is a pain to have to do every time I'm taking a picture at night.
Also, I haven't figured out how to upload videos onto the computer yet...
All in all, its a good bargain, especially if you plan to use the digital stills feature mostly for daytime photography.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-S150 3-CCD SD Camcorder:
Pros: easy to operate right out of the box. Great quality videos in outdoor conditions. Compact. Intuitive controls. Pop up flash for stills.
Cons: need to get used to the holding position so the index finger does cover the lens. But this is take care of by attaching provided grip assist.
I would definitely recommend this to my friend

Comments about Panasonic SDR-S150 3-CCD SD Camcorder:
Excellent camcorder. Did take some time to figure out how to de-interlace videos and create best quality DVDs but am very happy with the results now. 3CCDs in daylight give unbeatable video and low light performance is decent, if not very good.
Very satisfied with the purchase. Panasonic makes some really good camcorders. 5 stars all the way!
