Sunpak DFU-01 Shoe Mount Flash Diffusion Kit - Large & Small
The Sunpak Diffuser Kit is an indispensable accessory for flashes, as it enlarges the emission area of the flash and diffuses the light, providing a more natural appearance to shadows; which may stand out unnaturally under direct flash alone. The DFU-01 kit also has a very thin, lightweight folding design - so portable that it will never be "left behind".
The kit consists of one large (7.5 x 6") and one small (5.5 x 4.3") diffuser, to fit almost any flash. Also included is a 20" strip of "hook & loop fastener".

The good side is that construction seems sturdy, the product is well made, it folds flat, the plastic white surface is easy to clean. On the bad side: the velcro fastening mode is ackward, the diffiusers are hard to install and keep straight and bottom line, don't work that well. They are marginally better than installing an $8 diffuser or even a plastic cup over the flash (which some of my friend do) in terms of softening shadows. The [$] is way too much for the product. At $15 it would be good.

On the plus side, they both fold flat, are well made and the plastic diffuser head is easy to clean.On the negative side: (1) They are very very ackward to hold on the flash unit, requiring Velcro all over the place, (2) They work sort-of-well, the large one diffuses light more, the small one, less of course, but it is by no means comparable at all to a softbox by any stretch of the imagination. At [$] for the set, I would not buy them again. There are other ways to achieve the same or better effect

This product is lightweight and flimsy, but is designed to be that way. I don't use it for everyday, but it's nice to have some options in my lighting bag.

I just received the diffusion kit and I must say the images look as if they were taken in my studio, no harsh shadows at all. I was taken back a bit when I had to attach the product via velcro to my flash unit since I use more than one flash unit and sometimes don't want the diffuser and there is this unprofessional look velcro on my flash, other than that the item works great. I do however think the item is a little over priced.

Problems Encountered: I didn't like using velcro to attach the item to my flash unit.
