Comments about Verbatim DVD-R 4.7GB 8X DataLifePlus Printable (50):
For many years now I have been using the combination of Pioneer disc drives and Verbatim recordable media and Epson photo printers - with unsurpassed success. There is no way to describe how disturbing it is to read so many user's opinions about cheap no-name bulk discs and that they just have "a few coasters" and how happy they seem about buying unreliable junk. I would love to read their follow-up reviews five or ten years later in terms of whether they can still read the discs and how those look like...
If I had collected every single coaster over the past ten years that I created, they would all neatly fit in a tiny 25-disc spindle, I swear! Moreso, I have yet to get a coaster due to a manufacturing error by Verbatim as opposed to squeezing the max out of an "older" Windows system which simply is not nearly as reliable as any given Mac I've ever worked with.
I used to keep a slew of branded media, printable media, glossy media, hub-printable media, hard coated media at the same time. And then I finally settled for a single item what I believe is sort of the best of all worlds: this one here.
Is it cheap? No. Is it worth it? Absolutely!!
I don't shoot and edit with thousands of Dollars worth of equipment the kind of keepers that you want to enjoy for decades, the stuff that blows away customer's and friend's minds, and then settle for a bad excuse at the end of the production line.
I would love to see the printable surface popping out in an even whiter white, and hopefully Verbatim will address this soon. Still, this is my number one product for everything I burn in terms of DVD, and the equivalent with CD standard is Verbatim's product number 94755.
Do not get disappointed by the claim "8x speed": With the pioneer writer (DVR-115), those discs are burned at full speed as much as I can tell, certainly faster than just 8x.
Bottom line: I would blindly buy any medium that has been manufactured by Verbatim, they have earned my full trust with every product I have tried over all these years. But this one here is my recent top choice in terms of combining reliabilty, speed, quality, durability and printabilty in one affordable product.

I use this for a distribution media for attorneys for copies of depositions. I need reliable and durable. These discs have proven to be high quality as I very rarely have one not copy and I like that this is one of the few reasonably priced discs with VideoGard Protection as my clients don't always handle the discs carefully. I have tried Sony, TDK, and HP and at the least 50% cutomers were coming back and saying not working on their DVD players, but since I started using Verbatim, not even a single complain in one year. BTW I am using Plextor DVD burner and write speed is 6 times.
