The Samsung NV10 Digital Camera has an innovative compact design with Royal Black aluminum body and steady grip. It incorporates 10.1 megapixels, 1/1.8" CCD, to provide superb image detail, and the 3x zoom Schneider-Kreuznach Lens ensures that your images will be crisp and sharp. The high quality 2.5" wide-view LCD allows you to view brighter, clearer images, and the innovative Smart Touch user interface, makes it possible to quickly navigate and set menu items or view pictures. Furthermore, Samsung's unique ASR (Advanced Shake Reduction) system enables you to take better, clearer pictures indoors or in lower light conditions. With this and a great looking design NV10 is the perfect companion to take anywhere.

10.1 Megapixel Resolution
The NV10 uses a 10.1 megapixel 1/1.8" CCD, which provides a level of image quality not normally found in a slim camera, With this high level of resolution, your pictures will have better detail - even at print sizes up to 20x30".
3X Optical Zoom Schneider-Kreuznach Lens
The superior quality Schneider- Kreuznach lens produces crystal clear images with an aperture of f/2.8 that delivers even brightness and sharpness from the centre to the edges. For more natural-looking pictures, each lens surface is multi-coated to minimize the "ghost" or "flare" phenomenon. The Zoom lens enables you to take pictures ranging from a wide to a narrow angle of view, and the camera also has a 5X digital zoom function. When combined, the digital and optical zoom offers a total zoom ratio of 15X.
Attractive Ergonomic Design
The thin black aluminum body of the NV10 is stunning in it appearance with Samsung's unique blue ring on its extendable lens barrel. Although it is less than 19mm thick, the comfortable grip makes it easy to steady the camera - even with one hand - for sharp images.
Large 2.5" LCD with Smart Touch Controls
The 2.5 inch LCD monitor provides a wide clear screen so that you can easily frame and view your images. The Smart Touch user interface makes it possible to quickly navigate and set menu items or view pictures. The unique makeup of the Smart Touch buttons combined with large 2.5 inch LCD on the back of the camera provides users with a level of access through the graphical user interface unlike anything seen before.
Pop-Up Flash
A distinctive feature of the NV10 is the built-in pop-up flash. The use of a pop-up mechanism made the overall design simple yet luxurious, and its location, right above the lens, hugely improved light diffusion angles and transmission rates. The flash location is also ideal for delivering the flashlight as intended, since it prevents accidental blocking of the flash by a hand.
Advanced Shake Reduction and ISO1000 Sensitivity
The Advanced Shake Reduction (ASR) technology prevents the degradation of image clarity and color common to flash photography thanks to ISO 1000 sensitivity. With ASR the effects of camera shake are reduced in lower light conditions. Furthermore, The NV10 has an auto sensitivity feature that automatically adjusts sensitivity according to the ambient exposure conditions up to ISO 1000, and a high sensitivity setting of ISO 1000 enables you to take clear indoor pictures in the dark without camera shake and the resulting image blurring.
Multiple Recharging Methods
Recharging can be done using the included 24 pin USB cable, the optional camera cradle or by using an optional external battery charger.
Movie Recording and Editing
The NV10 supports TV quality MPEG-4 VGA (640x480) 30fps video, and the built-in movie editing function allows simple, convenient movie editing on the spot.
Red-eye Fix Function
The Red-eye Fix algorithm programmed into the camera automatically eliminates red eye in shoot and play modes, allowing you easily take a natural portrait photo.
Scene Modes
The NV10 includes 11 Scene Modes so it is easy for users to obtain the best picture result in a variety of settings. The scene modes provided are Night Scene, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Text Recognition, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks, Beach and Snow. In particular, Text mode extends the camera's application potential since you can shoot documents and then extract text from the images taken using the software included.
Built-in Special Effects
The Camera includes several special effects features including PhotoFrame, Motion GIF and Composite Shooting. Using the Photo Frame feature, You can add one 9 types of frame-like borders to a still image you want to capture. The Motion GIF lets users take up to 50 images continuously at a specific interval and save them in a file; then play the images back as an animation. Composite shooting lets you combine 2, 3, or 4 different shots in a still image to make a panoramic image or cover a larger visual area.

Exactly What I expected and much much more.

By Travis

from San Diego, Ca

Comments about Samsung NV10 Digital Camera:

First of all, this is a great camera for the price and wouldbe for twice the price. The body and all buttons/knobs arevery solid and you can tell the camera is constructed verywell. My girlfriend has a Sony T50 and, although it is agreat camera, in most situations i was able to getconsistently better pics and much quicker due to the matrixmenu system. All together i would recommend this camera toany casual photographer who wants more options than astandard point-n-shoot camera. GREAT CAMERA!

Expertise: Casual Photographer

Problems Encountered: -Focus under one foot can be a problem-Flash needs about 3 seconds to charge which can be a pain-ppl with big fingers may need to get used to button usage-Batt is tiny so get an extra.

Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Have used Sony T50

Items I Recommend: Sandisk 2GB Ultra II SD Card, Lowepro Rezo 15 Case, Extra Batt

Proprietary battery charging cable

By Nick name

from Santa Barbara

Comments about Samsung NV10 Digital Camera:

Elegant design and craftmanship/implementation.Complete feature set. The user interface design is intuitive and very easy to navigate. Most significant is the ability to access all available settings (for the selected mode) from a single button without the need to go into setup and then submenus.Several useful new (?) features/selectable modes including: AEB single shutter press = 3 shots with auto EV shift (+/-.5), Double Self Timer = the ability to add automatic second shot to self-timer mode at +2 seconds, and non-destructive editing of images on camera (modified image is saved as an additional image). Electrons are free and memory is cheap so... Fill Flash works very nicely. Announced NV11 appears to have same feature set but with 5X optical zoom.

Problems Encountered: Auto focus hunts and then settles for slightly-out-of-focus (noticeably blurred lines and text) at short distance (8-18) despite mode changes. High ISO is worthlessly noisy.Requests to samsung camera support contact page remain unanswered. Proprietary (?) USB charging cable is seemingly unavailable which leaves me with a petite object de arte. From the Samsung site DC power input connector : 24pin Connector and New recharging options, supports high capacity SBP-4442 battery kit(Optional) yet, on 17 Feb 07 the Accessories page states: Camera accessories are unavailable at this time. Please come back soon. The Specifications page lists Remote Controller (specifications - shooting - still image) however, I just re-checked my box and none was included. The value for the money proposition is difficult to answer given my inability to charge the camera. Ya', my fault - but I should be able to buy a new cable...

The camera you will HAVE with you

By Robert

from Tampa, Florida

Comments about Samsung NV10 Digital Camera:

I was debating between the Canon S3 IS and this camera. TheCanon had this camera whipped in every way except in size. Idid not want a camera that would get left behind because ofits bulk.I went ahead and bought this one. The battery lasts alittle less than other cameras, so buy an additionalbattery. You may only get 180 shots out of it but what goodis a 500 shot battery in the camera left at home? Thereforethis one is small enough to carry and you will have it atevery opportunity.Due to its very light weight I find that video is jitteryfrom my movements. Practice makes perfect.Built in frames are cute and provide entertainment for some.Saves you a step when making pictures for a calendar or lovenotes.I love the metal build of the camera. No plastic that lookslike metal, this is metal!Built in lens shade is very nice. I wish you needed to presstwo buttons to turn on the camera, or have a switch so thatpower can completely be removed. If you turn on the camerain your pocket you my have lens issues.Lastly, keep your fingers away from the flash, because ifthe camera decides to pop up the flash and you have itcovered, you risk having to power down the camera to clearthe issue.

Problems Encountered: Videos can be jerky if you are not steady.Aperture priority offers f/2. or 7.1, I wish there were moreoptions.

A little jewel

By Rodrigo

from NYC

Comments about Samsung NV10 Digital Camera:

A really beautiful design + plus a very good quality pictures. Good noise reduction. Canon still has the best color, sharpness and noise reduction but the Canon G7 is the double of the price and is not a really compact camera if is that what are you looking for. The Samsung absolutely worth it for the price. Also the settings are very smart with a little practice they become in a very easy way to use a camera every single camera should have controls like this one. Ah! I have forgotten that you can charge the camera when is connected to the computer like an ipod.

Problems Encountered: They didn't design a specific case for this camera.
