Efke 4 x 5" PL 100M Black and White ISO 100 Negative Film is a fine grain, extremely sharp film that is characterized by a very high silver content. Prints displaying an excellent gray scale tonality are produced using traditional black and white developers. Efke films are made using ADOX formulas (for high resolution) that were first introduced back in the 1950s.
Efke products are true to their rated speed. They allow both amateurs and professionals to produce high-quality prints. As a result of the fine resolution of this film, large, grain free, enlargements can be made from the negatives.

Comments about Efke 4 x 5" PL 100M Black and White ISO 100 Negative Film (50 Sheets):
Fairly consistent in developing performance, emulsion does scratch a LOT easier than most 4x5 films. Have not performed an actual speed test on the film but I can say that it is faster than 100, perhaps around 150-200 ISO.

Comments about Efke 4 x 5" PL 100M Black and White ISO 100 Negative Film (50 Sheets):
I use this film to shoot botanicals. It has a high silver content, and is much more nuanced than most contemporary black and white film, placing it more toward Agfa Scalla than TMAX. The downside is that the emulsion is very soft, and if you take it to a lab to be developed (as I do) and they won't add a hardener, the negatives can look very dirty, as though they haven't been properly washed. I've tried to get the deposits off myself, with less than gratifying results. But if you can produce clean negatives, this is a beautiful film.

Comments about Efke 4 x 5" PL 100M Black and White ISO 100 Negative Film (50 Sheets):
Efke films with my toyo, portraits and landscapes. For a "traditional" B&W film the lower cost films from Easter-Europe offer a step back in time while offering relatively smooth grain and forgiveness you would expect in a "premium" & "Modern" film-
Efke PL 100 B&W provides character and profuse grays that many others lack- for this reason, maybe not as much contrast as some would like, or come to expect from lower silver films.
This film is fun, few film manufacturer's today bring joy to the table...

Comments about Efke 4 x 5" PL 100M Black and White ISO 100 Negative Film (50 Sheets):
The grain quality is really fine, negatives came out clear. However, the developer sometimes causes a white vignette around the edges. I'm using this 4x5 to replicate photos from the great depression so the range of tones this film contains is fantastic!
