In general I find this Cutter to be of very high quality. The angle of cutting relative to the "vertical guide is 90.0 degrees. The accuracy of the grid on the baseboard as compared to the vertcal guide is within the measuring tools available to me. The costruction is sturdy.

I have two minor criticisms:No manual was supplied.
Althogh I found no difficulty in using this cutter without a manual, I feel the manufacturer knows more than me, and it would be nice for him to share his knowledge with me. That also applies to maintenance.

Secondly, I found the Safety Warnings in the lower right hand of the base board, to be poorly articulated.

In spite of my 2 criticisms, I found this cutter cutter to be first rate, and I woul not hedstate to recommend it to a potential buyer. Charles W. Leffert

i have needed this cutter since i was a child. it works differently from the garbage you will find in a box store. the cheap cutters have a blade like a handheld fabric rotary cutter, in that it's an edge with bevels both sides. this blade runs along cutting thru paper and tracking the groove in the cutting surface it HOPEFULLY made directly below itself. it can, and will, wander all over the map and your cutting accuracy will be dismal. been there. had several. let's move on ...
now , my RotoTrim cutter has a fixed lower carbon steel blade just like a guillotine cutter, and a wickedly sharp upper wheel (single bevel) that overlaps the lower blade about 3/16". it Shears, rather than Pinches the material off.
the cutter will reliably shave as little as 0.015" off and edge. it is simply Too Cool.
it is not the perfection of a true precision machine tool (ie, a milling machine), but for what it reasonably costs, and as nicely, and sweetly, and accurately as it does, it is perfect. look no further.

I waited to long to purchase this. It really cuts GREAT. If you need a cut as thin as a hair, it does it. You can't go wrong with this thing, just buy it if you need a cutter.

Used primarily for photo trimming, I like the fact that: a- paper does not travel while cutting, b- the cutter is stable during use, c easy access to blade.

The 15" Mastercut is a huge improvement over my previous cutter. The cuts are clean and precise, the blade is protected (I have a toddler in the house) and the feel is quality. I expect this to last and perform well for a long time.

I am disappointed that my trimmer did not come with the advertised "A" guide markings, so don't count on them being there.

The RotaTrim Rotary Cutter is by far and away the best one I have ever used. I have cut many paper products in the last 4 years (often 250+ items at a time) and the blade is still as sharp as the day it was purchased. The guides are easy to read and use. The blade allows you to shave edges for minute corrections. The whole cutter is very sturdy. The only drawback is the price. In summary - Best Ever and worth every penny.!

Cuts very precise. Will cut a .5mm slice of paper without kinking. A total pleasure to use. I've owned 3 of these over a 15 year period, and must say that after 1000s of cuts, I'm still amazed.

This rotary cutter is worth the money. I use it for a variety of purposes (trimming prints, cutting paper, etc.). I have a swing arm paper cutter and an inexpensive rotary cutter (which now goes in the trash). This cutter allows me to make unwaveringly straight cuts and to trim tiny amounts from the edge when needed...something my other cutters could not do. Solid construction. Built to last.

We have this trimmer since 1980. Due to measurement on clear plastic strip(1/8", 1/4", 3/8" and1/2") You can trim exactly on cropmarks.Due to the nature of or business(Laminating, we could trim from flush edge to 1/8", 1/4"---etc. I have studied so many rotary trimmers but I can not rplace Rotatrim. I thought Rotatrim does not exist but now I need another trimmer, I went on [@] and found that they have a distributor in USA.

I use my Rotatrim for cutting handmade wedding invitations as well as a variety of scrapbooking papers and materials. It cuts cleanly and precisely...like butter! I wish I had made this investment years ago! Fabulous tool!

This would have been given a 5 star rating because I'd give my YEARS old cutter a 5 star rating except that the plastic guard that holds the paper was installed crooked so it's making cutting the images more difficult, I have used this plastic piece as a guide on my other cutter (exactly the same) for YEARS, now I have to relearn how to use this cutter with a crooked guide... otherwise it's a fantastic cutter. It seems the quality control person was sleeping the day mine was assembled.

I've owned several trimmers over the years and the Rotatrim is the best by far. The self sharpening blade gurantees a perfect cut everytime. In the 4 years I've owned this cutter I've yet to change the blade.
