This is a huge assortment of samples of Rosco's gel filters and reflectors, along with a few screens and even some fabric swatches. The 3x5 inch size is plenty big enough for use in front of a camera-mount flash and even some smaller AC studio strobes. Colors run the gamut, many have transmission information and most have spectral transmission graphs. There are even some with mired values for accurate color correction. An unbelievable value! All you need is imagination and a means of attaching to your lights or lenses. I suggest black masking tape if you don't have a filter holder frame.

Comments about Rosco Large 3x5" Cinegel Swatchbook:
Throwing one of these gels on a Rosco 3x6 Litepad makes for some super easy colored lighting that adds some nice personality to product shots. The plastic gels will also stick to the litepad on their own, making this very convenient.
The speciality gels and reflectors won't be terribly useful if you're using them with litepads alone, and all the frosted gels are completely redundant as the Litepad already has very diffused lighting, but it's completely worth it for the colored gels.

Comments about Rosco Large 3x5" Cinegel Swatchbook:
This was the perfect purchase for me as I wanted it to make small cuts to cover my flashes. The size allows multiple cuts from the same gel so the one book gave me enough material to cover both flashes with matching gels, plus a little leftover.
I've been quite partial to Lee filters in the past so was frustrated BH don't stock a Lee swatchbook but since using these gels I'm more than happy with them.

This is a very complete set, as I had not used colored gel filter before this swatch book is very useful as I can experiment to see which colors/ shades I like before buying a sheet so I can color balance all my lights.

Comments about Rosco Large 3x5" Cinegel Swatchbook:
I was looking for a set of color-correction gels for small strobes (my canon 430ex ii) and wanted a set of gels that I could attach velcro to for easy attachment. There are a bunch of options for this, from the small [$] pack of Rosco gels that most people seem to like to the custom-made Studio DIY holder. This pack is the best of the bunch for two reasons:1) The size of the pieces is such that you can cut them off of the ring easily -- there's no reason to buy the smaller pack and deal with the damage that the ring leaves on the usable portion of the gel. 2) You can cut each gel into two and both fit over the flash head. So for [$] for the gels and a few bucks worth of velcro, you get 2 copies of every gel Rosco makes, all sized well for compact strobes, with no holes in any of the gels.

[...] upon inspection of the swatchbook I was pleasantly suprised. It consisted more samples than I expected - very pleasant suprise! Swatch (gel) size is excellent for my speedlite (Canon), really outstanding product for really good prize!

There are a gajillion Rosco colored filters (available as Roscogel and Cinegel). This book allows you to try them before buying large sheets for your flash filters. Specifically, it allows you to determine how deep a shade of CTO your flash can use before you run out of horsepower for illuminating your scenes.
It also allows you to see that there isn't an appreciable (detectable?) difference between the mechanical integrity of the Roscogel and Cinegel.
This 3x5 Cinegel book has more of the scrims and reflectors for movie lighting, whereas the small Roscogel book only has the transmission films (sized for standard speedlights). You'll be able to cut several filters out of each sheet.

I use a Nikon SB-900. These swatches are large enough to Velcro the entire swatch over the flash and wow do you get a variety. The swatch-book contains all the basic color correction you'll need AND every other color you can imagine. In addition, you also get a bunch of diffusion swatches - I cut on of these diffusion swatches to fit inside the SB-900 gel holder which comes with my flash. When combined with the SB-900 dome diffuser (also comes w/flash), I get a nice double diffusion that produces a very pleasing soft light.
Can't go wrong for the price/variety in my opinion. I'm very happy I purchased this.

If you are looking for very complete set of Gels to use with a Speedlite this is the one. Gel sheets are plenty big enough to cover two flash units and provide all the effects this novice can dream up.

Cut in half, each sheet makes two strips that fit perfectly on a Canon 430EX (with velcro on each end). Contains quite a few samples that are no use for flash, but more than 50 that are extremely useful.
