I bought 2 ea. 806A 3-Section Compact Tripods to support Digital Camera slave flash units (Midi Slave Di-Digital Camera Flash by Morris, B&H# MOMSB [$]). Although I have few older small tripods of rounded tube I never did quite like them. As the Impact 806A tripods were the least expencive I could find, fitting my needs (only [$]), I was realy surpriced when I received them, how sturdy and well made they were. As my slave flash units weight only 0.2 Lbs, those tripods might look like a overkill as the tripods do support 3.3 Lbs (1.5 kg), but as they weight only 2.2 Lbs (1 kg), they are very easy to carry around in their accessorie bags. They are so much better than my old tubular tripos and very much lighter than my heavy Manfretto tripods.
