Master Posing Guide for Children's Portrait Photography - Portrait photographers know that a good pose is critical to the success of any image. There are a variety of books on the market that are devoted to posing adults; however, they don't arm you with the unique set of skills you need to produce flattering, salable images of your youngest portrait subjects.
In this unique book, author Norman Phillips draws upon his own experience and that of some other top children's photographers, compiling a wide range of portrait examples, insights, and strategies for producing memorable, cutting-edge, and timeless images. You'll learn how to ensure the best-possible presentation of infants, engage fast-moving toddlers, select appropriate props and locations, and position older kids, preteens, and teens to create unforgettable images that evoke emotion and ensure great sales.
Filled with step-by-step tips for posing boys, girls, twins and triplets, and groups - whether on location or in the studio - this is one book that you'll rely on time and again.
About the Author: Norman Phillips is a master photographer who is the recipient of more than 150 awards, including the Accolade of Outstanding Photographic Excellence in Recognition of Contribution to the Industry.
He has hosted many seminars, sponsored by corporations like Pentax Corporation, Eastman Kodak and Burrell Colour, Inc. Phillips is also a regular contributor to industry publications including Rangefinder magazine and the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International monthly newsletter.

Comments about Amherst Media Book: Master Posing Guide for Children's Portrait Photography:
Very dated-looking images, and some unintentionally hilarious samples - an infant posed in a wicker 'nest' surrounded by ferns, an outsized butterfly, and a fake raccoon looming ominously over her. If it were supposed to be funny, it would be brilliant, but I fear it is not.
Despite the dated feel, would be useful to an unambitious small-town photographer, or someone doing a lot of group shots- the poses for groups of kids were fairly practical, if uninspired.
Might also be useful for someone shooting film, as the poses are all very rigid. Current photography is much more interactive and loose, even when formal, but can be hard to get if you're shooting film. Maybe these stiff shots would work for that, since there's no spontaneity.

This is not what i was expecting. It is more about indoor staging and a little out of date !
