There is nothing else to say. I found the USB 2 ports worked without the drivers but there was static and popping from the card and the computer did an immediate reboot when shut down as long as the card was in the machine. The computer said the drivers were being installed but I could not find them anywhere on the machine after I started trouble shooting. Also note the 1394 B connections do not match the 1394 A connectors, you will need some conversion cables if you have heritage equipment.

I bought this as a replacement for a SIGG card that failed. The Sandisk card reader was getting very warm (almost hot to the touch) and then the card failed. The reader still gets very warm with the Belkin card, so I'm thinking the card reader is going bad. I was able to use the setup once so far with no problems, but unplug the reader each time upon completion. I like the power connector on this card and the internal connectors.

no problems installing in a Dell/Vista; ran driver SW first, then plugged in the card and it worked right away; using the FW800 to connect to external storage, noticeable improvement over USB connection (make sure you have PCI Express slots)

The install was easy and the card looks to work as promised, I just didn't see a jump in transfer speed over the firewire 400 hook-up I have previously used. Could be that my sata dual-drive set-up doesn't see the full app.
