The Nikon Coolpix L5 provides a generous 7.2 megapixel resolution and produces images with great picture clarity, which can be fully appreciated on the bright 2.5" LCD. The powerful, 38-190mm equivalent Zoom-Nikkor lens ensures matchless compositional freedom, from zooming in for intimate personal portraits to zooming out for expansive outdoor scenes. Furthermore, Lens shift Vibration Reduction (VR) technology allows the user to make the most of 5x zoom lens.
The Coolpix L5 makes it simple to get great-looking results in challenging situations. Three unique in-camera Nikon image innovations adjust the image, detecting and correcting imperfections: Face Priority AF automatically detects and achieves sharp focus on people's faces wherever they are in the frame; In-Camera Red-Eye Fix automatically overcomes the red-eye effect sometimes caused by flash; and D-Lighting makes it possible to rescue underexposed images or shots taken with too much back-light. In addition, there are 15 different Scene modes to select from to optimize the camera settings for your particular shooting conditions.
The camera includes PictBridge capability, which enables direct connection to compatible printers without the need for a computer, and PictureProject software simplifies the importing, editing and organization of your images. Altogether, the Nikon Coolpix L5 is an excellent choice for the entry-level photographer, producing rewarding images from the first click.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix L5 Digital Camera:
Like most, I have always been a fan of Nikon. My wifestarted throwing hints that she wanted a digital camera. SoI started the research for something that would suit her. The Nikon L5 technically speaking is perfect. 7MP 5x Opticalzoom, simple shooting modes, compact. The downfall was Ididn't read the good reviews on this camera ahead of time. We received the camera and immediately noticed theextremely slow performance, 3+ seconds between each shot. Another downfall was that the LCD was upgraded to a 2.5but the pixel count was so low that you have no clue aboutthe quality of your shot until you view it on a computerscreen or print it.
Problems Encountered: No problems aside from design flaws.
Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Various consumer based digital cameras such as the Nikon 5700
