The EQ231-GSP from LA Audio is a dual channel, 31 band graphic equalizer that includes a LF and HF variable frequency shelving equalizer, variable high and low pass filters and a limiter-noise gate. The graphic filters are based around precision minimum phase active RC networks, and deliver superior dynamic range and signal to noise performance.
The high- and low-pass filters use 4th order bi-quadratic topology that offers 24dB/octave slope and superior stability. The two band shelving equalizer section can be used to further tailor the sound of the source material, without having to adjust the graphic EQ section. A dedicated switch engages the EQ as needed. A variable input level control allows the equalizer to be properly matched to the source, and Peak LEDs warn of overload.
The dynamics section comprises a fast RMS detector with soft-knee characteristics. The limiter and gate both feature threshold controls. The limiter provides gain reduction information via a 3-segment LED display, while the noise gate features a gate closed indicator.
