Comments about Omega Popabrella Portable Protective Umbrella:
I use the Popabrella with my Canon HF M30. Easy to pack and use, it allows more opportunity to shoot. Better than anything I could devise. For the price, no complaints!

Comments about Omega Popabrella Portable Protective Umbrella:
This piece of equipment is useless for professional use. The height is to short for my videocamcorder, and if I wished to use it with my Nikon D-200 I would have to remove the battery pack. It may be of some use to enable youto view the screen in sunlight.

Comments about Omega Popabrella Portable Protective Umbrella:
I've been jury-rigging a version of this exact device for 10 years to a variety of results. I had HOPED that this item would solve my sun shading dilemma, but the tripod plate configuration I set up for my Sony A1U will not allow me to attach this. What it REALLY needs is a screw clamp to attach it a tripod arm (and perhaps a little bigger umbrella) to service video shooters. This should work just fine for DSLR & small camcorder users.

Comments about Omega Popabrella Portable Protective Umbrella:
This umbrella is very easy to use and provides a quick way to block the sun, rain, or any other photography obstacle. The design allows the umbrella to be easily moved around, allowing you to change the angle of the umbrella or position within seconds. You also will not need a third hand to keep it up because of it's ability to screw into the bottom of you camera. I have had no troubles with mine so far. I do not, however reccomend this umbrella with a larger camera or a long lens; I'd go for the larger umbrella made by the same company: omega.

Comments about Omega Popabrella Portable Protective Umbrella:
Great product great price, When I ordered it I thought I was getting the bigger size which is definetely required for a DSLR with any length of lens attached. But this works well for blocking the suns glare here In Colombia from the LCD.

Comments about Omega Popabrella Portable Protective Umbrella:
As a news photog, I use these to protect my gear from the rain and wet snow I often find myself in when shooting accidents or fires.
This model stays where you put it and is fine for daylight work. However, the shaft is too short to accodomate a camera mounted dedicated flash unit, making it totally worthless for night use.

I purchased this to use with my Canon Xti. I had to take the battery pack off as the pole is not tall enough. You can forget an external flash. You can only get 5-1/2" above the base of the camera to the rim of the popabrella in the verticle position. They claim it will swivle 360 degrees. Mine only gets 120 degrees side to side.
It is pretty well made and probably would be fine for a small camera. It's a great idea for keeping you camera cool in the hot sun or a light rain with no wind.
On the cardboard backing the manufacturer says they make larger sizes. I was unaware of that fact when I ordered mine and will be looking into in getting a larger one.

This is a great product if you are shooting in a light rain or heavy sun. It also comes in handy when you are near a waterfall with lots of mist coming off of it.
