Comments about Canon PowerShot A710 IS Digital Camera:
I bought this camera and took one picture with it before I left on an 11 day vacation. I then took over 1000 pictures with it on that vacation. The image stabilization is very helpful, as I take pictures without a tripod and usually not in great light. Many of my pictures came out excellent in a wide variety of backdrops, including close detail, general views, and landscapes. It has several manual override options. The fit of the camera is absolutely perfect for my hands. Many of those 1000+ pictures were taken at the full 6x zoom. The lens is excellent at the 6x end as well as the 1x end and all in between. I have also recently taken some night photos with the shutter speed override, and they have come out very well with the maximum speed of 15 seconds. This is an excellent camera for a very good price. Simple enough for any beginner to use, but with good features that a more seasoned photographer will enjoy. Very nice looking camera too!I ordered mine from B&H, and I will buy any future photo purchases from them. I also bought a used A410 for a family member the next day. Both were well on time. B&H has great customer support and prices as good as you will find anywhere. I highly recommended B&H as well.Buy the soft case for the camera, it is a great investment to help protect the camera. I have used Impact's rechargeable batteries with it.

Comments about Canon PowerShot A710 IS Digital Camera:
I took a long time narrowing it down to this camera and am very happy with it so far. Canon makes it VERY easy to use their cameras. Since I didn't want an ELPH-type, this was the next best category. I do a lot of traveling and biking, and this is perfectly portable. The fact that it uses AA batts is very convenient. Rayovac makes one that charges in 15min and is good for 1-2wks in the camera. The 6X zoom is the best, very sharp. Some of the shooting choices are too complicated so I would just leave it in P mode and click away, but there are a lot of manual options if you want them. You won't go wrong if you pick this particular model. It also happens to be a great looking camera.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
