The Lumicon Pulseguide Illuminator, Pulseguide Illuminator, LG1095 is a sophisticated replacement illuminator for the Lumicon 12.5mm Illuminated Reticle Eyepiece.
This illuminator differs from the traditional design of "steady red light" illuminators which dominate most scopes. However, in some circles, it is believed that this steady light technology promotes eye fatigue which can lead to misalignment of the telescope. Inasmuch as a slight deviation of the reticle can lead to poor photography; the easier it is on the eye, the better.
By using a pulsating illuminator, fewer distinct sky objects can be spotted with greater facility.
