Comments about CAD Trion 7000 Dual Element Ribbon Microphone:

I recorded traditional Japanese instrument "KOTO" and Bamboo flute with this mic. This mic could capture the sound very naturally, especially for the attack and release sound of the KOTO. The sensitivity and S/N were better than the old ribon mic I have used before. The price is very reasonable. I am happy with this mic.

Comments about CAD Trion 7000 Dual Element Ribbon Microphone:

I use it on acoustic guitar in a XY and mid/side stereo setup with a condenser mic and it sound really great, especially in the bridge position. Very realistic sound with a great amount of low frequencies. You need a preamp that give more than 60dB to run this mic on acoustic guitar. I also use it on my electric guitar cabinet and it sound awesome.

Comments about CAD Trion 7000 Dual Element Ribbon Microphone:

I brought a pair of the Cad Trion 7000 microphones to a use with a 3-piece rock band in a small venue (300 capacity approx). I decided to set them up as overheads, or rather, underheads. I placed one either side of the kick drum aiming the nulls (in the figure of 8 pattern) at the snare on one side and at the ride on the other (as they are loudest acoustically). Flipping polarity on one side provided a tasty vintage sound. The high end roll off works well for drums in small rooms as the drums naturally produce a lot of overtones that cut through without any help from the PA. A great coloured sound that sits well in a mix. Highly recommended.
