The Chrosziel 203-01 is a follow focus designed for film and video cameras. The unique system allows easy operation from both sides, making it highly accessible in a variety of situations. The follow focus makes critical focus pulling a breeze.
Markings on the focus wheel give about 110-140° of rotation on the lens, spreading the angle to the focus knob by a factor of two. Precision focus pulling cannot only be achieved with remarkable accuracy; it can also be recreated over and over with very little deviation from take to take. The kit comes with all necessary parts, including a removable hand wheel, focus level, and wheel scale.

- The 203-01 can be fitted with a focus knob on both sides, giving the system added flexibility. No matter what the environment, the camera lens will be fully accessible to the operator.

This follow focus system comes in two flavours - the cine and video version. The latter is for use with lenses with a shorter throw. I am using the follow focus with a combination of nikon and leica still lenses on my Red Camera. It gives you much more control of these lenses. The different focus drives can either increase or decrease the throw depending upon the number of teeth on the drive.
This is a refined unit with a nice dampened feel when you pull focus. There is no play at all in it. I love the excellent german engineering. Very solid and well built. I have used a range of follow focus units including Arri's flagship models and think that this is right up there with the best I have used. Well done Chrosziel.
The only criticism I have is that some of the more specialised focus drives can be hard to find.
