The FireCoder PCI Express MPEG-2/MPEG-4 Encoding Card from Canopus is a dedicated MPEG encoding card that allows you to compress DV or HDV video to MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. The card is fast enough to compress video at speeds faster than real time. This lets you quickly encode video for DVD or portable devices such as the PSP and iPod with video. The expansion card is compatible with computers running Windows XP and features timeline export plug-ins for EDIUS, Adobe Premiere 6.5 and Adobe Premiere Pro 1.x.
- MPEG Encoding
- The FireCoder is designed to increase the speed of MPEG video encoding when compared to software encoding. The card supports capturing and encoding DV and HDV video as MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 at a variety of resolutions, bit rates and frame rates.
- DV and HDV Compatibility
- The FireWire port on the FireCoder can capture DV and HDV video from digital camcorders. This allows you to quickly and easily capture DV and HDV video for MPEG encoding.
- PCI Express Interface
- The card installs in an available PCI Express slot in your computer. Please be sure that your computer features the PCI Express interface to insure compatibility.
