Good head, with a simple but efficient design. If you need an extra plate, like I do so I could mount a slide plate for the quick release on my two cameras, you're out of luck. The plate is an odd size, and quite impossible to find. [...] I was unable to find a shop having one. The Libec USA website doesn't show the plate as an accessory - I'm waiting from an answer from them to my request regarding where/how I could get one. If you don't need more than one plate for the quick release, the quality of the head, or of a head/tripod combination, is really worth the money.

Comments about Libec H38 Professional Fluid Head:
Very smooth pans and tilts, even when zoomed in. There is no setting for adjusting the counterbalance or the drag, but you really don't need it because this head is just so smooth. It is very well made and perfect for small to mid-sized cameras.

Comments about Libec H38 Professional Fluid Head:
This is probably the best fluid head in that category. I use it for videography on sites where I can arrive by car. For shooting in remote places I sacrifice some stability for lighter weight und use a lighter head. The head pans and tilts very smooth with the right amount of drag. I use it with a Canon XH-A1 and the Libec T72 legs.
Negative: I don't like the camera screw (you always need to twiddle for a coin)
The ball base cannot be removed, so you can't use it on a flat base tripod.

Considering the cost of the head I'm very happy. It's smooth, although not adjustable, but the friction has never been an issue.
It's a bit on the heavy side, but not by much.
Most importantly it's much smoother than the Bogens.
