I'm very pleased with this battery. The life lasts a good two days of consistent shooting, so long as frivolous usage is avoided (i.e. LCD screen abuse, leaving the camera on). I still carry an extra battery around with me just in case, but if it's charged before an event or day of shooting, there's no threat of battery failure. The re-charge is quick and painless.
I've only had it for a month or so, so I'm not sure how it deteriorates over time. That's inevitable with any battery so it's no real concern to me.
Nikon batteries are typically recommended with any Nikon. General brands tend to die quicker. I shoot with a D200 and my spare is a general brand. While it's sufficient for a day of continual shooting, I prefer to use this battery.

I needed three new batteries for my D200 and a friends D50, and figured why not save 45 dollars? I'm not that picky about a logo, and after all, how much difference is there between different batteries with the same specs?Obviously a LOT more than expected.
Expertise: Mid-level, doing occasional freelance jobs.
Problems Encountered: None of my three batteries are in use today. The meter on my MB-D200 indicated that the first battery never charged more than 68%, but seemed to work fine except from that. The second gave 100% charge, but the battery life indicator told me that is was about to die, already at the first charge. The third one have not been tested in my MB-D200 and therefore I cannot give a technical description, but the indications were similar. It discharged really fast, and while charging, it never managed to get fully charged. (after 48 hours of charging, it was still not finished)Today, a few months later, I have not been able to trust these batteries at all, and have used them as little as possible. I guess they have had about 10 recharges each. Now, the first battery discharges as fast that I can see the indicator counting down , and even without shooting a single frame, the battery is dead in about half an hour. The second battery, shows full charge from the charge unit rather quick, but in the camera, it is dead. The third seems as bad as the first. It works, but not for long at all.In other words, by saving 45 dollars by getting three Impact batteries instead of the original Nikons, I wasted 90 dollars in useless junk.Just for the record: The cameras used work as they should. Original Nikon batteries operates like normal on both units. Conclusion: They just doesnt do the job. Avoid them.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Original Nikon batteries for D50, D70 and D200.
Items I Recommend: Go for the real Nikon ENEL3E instead.

Good battery, works as genuine!
My Nikon D80 blink with low battery indicator after few recharge cycles but it was fixed by upgrading D80 firmware from 1.10 to 1.11.

Its a battery. It fits in the charger and charges, it fits in the camera and provides power. I can't tell it apart from the stock battery that came with my D700. What more can I say.

I was hesitant to purchase this low cost battery at first but the reviews seemed positive and I'm glad I took the chance. My last battery came from an electronics store for $50+ and after 30 days, would not recharge anymore. It was non-returnable! I've only had the Impact for a couple of months but it holds it's charge well and recharges quickly. You can't go wrong at this price for a reliable back up battery.

Bought this battery as a back up battery for my D200.
I have 2 OEM Nikon batteries for my MB-D200 vertical battery grip but chose to pick up this one as a spare. Unlike the OEM battery, this one packs 1700mAh of power, which is over 13% more capacity than Nikon's 1500mAh battery. After over 10 complete charge/discharge cycles, the battery has proven itself to last longer and has exhibited no failures of any sort. I'm even planning on buying another one to give me 25% more juice for long shooting days with the battery grip installed.
If you're looking for a second, third, or simply a replacement battery, this is an excellent deal.

Battery works fine, but shows no charge for the life of the battery on D90. I will keep it for backup.

Loaded in my D80, it seems to hold a charge just as well as my Nikon battery, though time may prove otherwise. However, as of now, I'd say it's just as good, at half the price, as the Nikon. One minor but quickly remedied problem - I did have to jiggle it a bit when I first put it in the battery compartment as the contacts didn't seem to be connecting properly; I haven't had to make any adjustments since.

I use a Nikon D200; I decided to try the Impact battery so I bought two. They will take a charge, but not for more than 100 clicks of the shutter, both are a complete disappointment. I use the Nikon and a generic made in china battery, and they lasted longer than the Impact.
Now we will see how good the return policy is.

It works -- and that is all that I ask. I have noticed no overheating, no recharging problems and only a slightly reduced charge as compared to Nikon packs. And as I shoot so much that I go through several battery packs at an event, I can't say it makes a big difference

As I put this battery pack into the charger, after a few minutes it stops charging, indicating it is full, but when in my D300 or D200, the cameras indicate it has no charge at all.

Bought one for the second battery in my MB-D200 battery grip to go along with my Nikon ENEL3e battery and it seems to preform equal with the Nikon according to the battery meter in the camera itself. Both seem to hold about 400-600 shots depending on the use of VR, so for the price it can't be beat! Ordering 2 more for back up batteries, and plan on being just as satisfied.
