• 10.0 Megapixel Resolution: The 10.0 megapixel CCD sensor provides enough detail for high quality poster size prints with room for creative cropping. Furthermore, the Safety Zoom feature uses the high resolution to offer extra magnification without affecting image quality - up to 12x zoom when shooting small size images.

• 3x Optical Zoom Lens: The camera's powerful 3x optical zoom utilizes Canon's industry dominance in optic technology to deliver quick response, brilliant clarity and pure, true color.

• DIGIC III Processor with Face Detection AF/AE: Delivering fast, responsive camera performance and superb image rendering, the DIGIC III processor also drives Canon's landmark Face Detection technology. Face Detection AF/AE ensures accurate and bright people shots by automatically detecting faces in a scene and optimizing focus and exposure accordingly, and because the technology is hardware-based, it operates at the same rapid speed as Canon's standard AiAF. Furthermore, the processor incorporates iSAPS scene-recognition technology using an internal database of thousands of different photos to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance.

• High ISO to Reduce Image Blur and Expand Low-light Shooting: The PowerShot SD900 Digital ELPH features ISO 1600 and High ISO Auto settings that reduce the effects of camera shake and sharpen subjects in low-light situations, giving you greater flexibility for shooting.

• Photographic Flexibility: The PowerShot SD900 offers photographers a range of 18 shooting modes, including Special Scene modes such as Aquarium - which turns off the flash, raises the ISO and adjusts the white balance to return quality images when shooting aquatic life through glass tanks. Users can expand their creativity further with My Colors, which allows artistic photo effects to be applied in-camera both during and after shooting.

• Advanced Video Recording: The camera's movie functions include 30fps VGA recording with sound, and Canon's unique Intelligent Orientation Sensor automatically rotates vertically shot movies for playback on camera, PC or TV via the integrated AV Out connection. You can also shoot extremely high quality full-motion movies at 60 fps QVGA (320 x240), and there is even a 15 fps Compact Movie mode that's ideal for creating movies you can attach to emails.

• High-resolution 2.5" LCD Display: The bright 2.5" LCD screen features a wide viewing angle and an anti-reflective coating for comfortable image framing and viewing, with a screen resolution of 230,000 pixels, and users can select the Image Inspection Tool to display a magnified section next to each captured shot straight after shooting. This high-resolution screen offers a crisp, clear picture and wider viewing angle to make shooting, playback and using the camera's menu functions especially convenient. The clear and bright LCD also features Night Display for easy viewing in low light. For accurate framing without the LCD, the camera retains a real-image optical viewfinder- useful in difficult lighting situations or when battery power is running low.

• Image Management Features: Image management is made easier by My Category, an addition that automatically assigns each photo with a category - People, Scenery or Event - depending on the shooting mode used and whether Face Detection was activated. These customizable categories are also recognized by Canon's ZoomBrowser EX software, which is included for easy PC-based image management.

• Easy, Flexible Direct Printing Options: The Print/Share button makes direct printing easier than ever. Simply connect the camera to a Canon Direct photo printer or PictBridge supported printer, press the Print/Share button and print. The Direct Print feature allows for image preview and editing (including cropping) on the camera when connected to a compatible printer. Also use the Print/Share button to transfer images directly to a computer (Windows).
