For me it's a choice of this case or the Lowepro. Pros don'tuse lens caps, so the case pulling the lens cap off is notan issue. How about using the Lowepro for ruggedness, andthis one for having the marvelous compact Leica cameraaround all the time? Both! This case is part of the Leicasolution for keeping an extremely high quality digitalcamera around all the time, via its compactness.

I just bought this case and in less than five days I've got to return it. It seems it's not designed for a thick belt- I've had to force the belt through the loop on the back, and the leather piece that keeps the case on the belt has torn and is nearly all the way severed. This is disappointing for a Leica product- a very poor design as the designer did not take into consideration the many thicknesses of belts. I have only one belt that works with this case and I don't like to wear the belt that often. Also, I am concerned that the magnetic closure opens too easily.

Problems Encountered: The problems I've encountered 1) the piece that the belt goes through is not wide enough and the leather should be stronger. 2) Magnetic closure can pull open inadvertantly. 3) When the case is opened, the lens cap usually pulls off with it.
