Use one of its sections as a base to place a mounted light at floor or table level. Add the extension to the base to raise the height of the light to a maximum of 3' (90 cm). It is constructed of black annodized aluminum.

The Impact 24 x 32" Softbox with Silver Interior is designed for use with the Impact 160 and 300 watt/second monolights. When comparing to larger softboxes, this size will provide a light quality which is more spectral, with a faster gradation from highlight to shadow areas. 24 x 32" is best suited for a 1/2 length portrait of 1 - 2 people, or a product shot of 2 - 3 smaller-than-a-breadbox items.

The front face of this softbox can be removed for easy access to the light and the interior baffle from the front. Also, it provides the option of shooting without the front face for an increased output, more specular quality of light.

Umbrellas with a white interior will soften and weaken light more than an umbrella with a silver lining. A white umbrella without a black backing may also be used as a makeshift softbox, although the use of the light will not be as efficient as with a lightbox.

Choosing umbrella size is determined by the size of the subject, and the strength of the light supply being used. Choosing an umbrella surface is as subjective as choosing a paint and brush.

This Impact 43" White Translucent Umbrella is suggested for use in mid-length portraits for one or two persons.
