Setup Easy and Works Like a Charm

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8 GHz Wireless PAL A/V Sender:

Our PAL version of the product took ten minutes to set up and could not work better. It's only about a 30-foot, direct line-of-sight connection, but our experience shows that, at the very least, the product works beautifully in ideal conditions.

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8 GHz Wireless PAL A/V Sender:

I am using the product to transmit the TV audio/video signals from the ground floor to the second floor (bedroom) of my house. I am entirely satisfied with the quality of both the picture and the sound. It only took a couple of minutes after initial installation to find the best angle for the antenna on the receiver, since which it has worked perfectly.

My main problem with it is that the devices are single voltage and came with the wrong voltage for my area. Despite careful searching on the website, I could not find any option to choose the voltage for the product although, since it is sold worldwide, one assumes it does come in both 110-120 and 220-240V.

So I have to use transformers with both the transmitter and receiver, which is a bit of a pain.

Since devices as small as a hand-held shaver can come with dual-voltage capability (which does not appear to make a difference in price compared to single voltage models) I do not understand why all manufacturers of electrical equipment do not make all their devices capable of automatic dual voltage switching.

You get what you pay for!

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8 GHz Wireless PAL A/V Sender:

I bought this video sender for use in the UK (hence the PALversion) and I have to say it has worked flawlessly. Ihave mine sending the display from my PC upstairs to mylounge TV and the sound to my 5.1 Surround receiver. Thesignal passes through two concrete walls and a floor with noproblems. The sound quality is at least as good as the 50ftcable I was previously using if not better and the pictureis clear and stable. I use bluetooth, a 2.4GHz router amicrowave and a cordless phone and have never experiencedany interference at all using these items. Set-up was adoddle (although I did have to purchase European - UK plugadapters) and they worked right out of the box. I cannotcomment on the IR sending feature as it is not something thatI use.Overall, this product IS more expensive than 2.4GHz senders, but the lack of interference certainly outways the extracost. If you need reliable wireless transmission of A/V,this is the product for you.PS. I would like to congratulate B&H for getting it from NewYork to Manchester UK in 3 days - great job!
