The 20" iMac Desktop Computer with Intel 2.0 GHz Core Duo Processor is a powerful and compact computer designed to meet the needs of video editors, graphic designers, families, educators and businesspeople. The computer is built around a 20" LCD display designed by Apple, delivering an elegant all-in-one space-saving solution by combining the monitor and computer into one component.
Apple has partnered with Intel to update the popular iMac computer which is now powered by the Intel Core Duo Processor. The Core Duo is actually two processors built into a single chip which translates into much better performance than a single processor chip. The computer is loaded with a 250GB Serial ATA hard drive, 512 MB of RAM, wireless networking, built-in speakers and Apple's SuperDrive, an 8X speed DVD and CD burner that support Dual-Layered DVD discs.
All this hardware runs on Apple's OS X 10.4 Tiger operating system with Rosetta technology. This allows you to seamlessly run legacy applications as well as Universal Binaries that have been designed to run on both PowerPC and Intel chips, making the iMac a great choice for your home or office.
- Intel Core Duo Processor
- The system is powered by an Intel Core Duo 2.0 GHz processor powered by a 667 MHz frontside bus. The Core Duo features two processors on a single chip, which increases system efficiency and reduces power consumption compared to two-chip dual processor systems.
- Front Row
- Apple's Front Row software turns your iMac into a sleekly designed media player. Working in conjunction with the included remote control you can easily watch DVD movies and music videos, browse your iPhoto library and play music through iTunes. Integrating your entertainment center and computer is ideal for users with limited space such as a dorm room or apartment, or for those who simply want to get more out of their computer than word proessing and web browsing.
- Rosetta Technology
- The changeover to Intel-powered Macintosh computers is made seamless with OS X Tiger's built-in Rosetta technology. You can open applications written for older PowerPC Macintosh computers without any special steps -- just click and run.
- ATI Radeon Graphics
- The ATI Radeon X1600 Graphics processor, utilizing the PCI Express interface, delivers crips and stunning 2D and 3D graphics. You can even connect a second display via the Mini-DVI output port, letting you use dual monitors with your iMac.
- 8X SuperDrive
- The slot-loading Superdrive allows you to burn DVDs and CDs at lightning-fast speeds, making it easy to transport and archive data from your computer. The Superdrive supports Dual Layered burning, allowing you to put over 8GB of data on a single disc.

- iSight Camera
- The built-in iSight camera allows you to participate in video conferencing using the included iChat AV software or easily setup a web cam. The camera is integrated in the computer's design, taking the ugly "bubble camera" style-that is often associated with web cams-out of the picture.
