Hard to find at a good price these Olympus batteries were delivered quickly and at the right price. Nickle rechargables are the dinosaur in today's rechargable arena, wish they had a lithium replacement but that is not currently the case...either way BH Photo Video did a good job

The BR-403 battery pack works better than two individual AAA rechargeable batteries. Our DS-4000 hangs up and requires a reboot with individual Ni-MH (but works fine with alkalines -- go figure!) Minus one star for the high price to get reliable performance with a rechargeable.

This is the replacement battery that you'll wish had come with the original. I'm using it with the Olympus DS 4000. Perhaps this level of power is standard with the newer 5000. I can't say. Just glad to have it. Watch those periodic charges and discharges. All Ni-MH batteries with die surprisingly quickly without those cycles. Can't beat the price, [...] from B&H.
