The Studio MovieBoard Plus PCI Capture Card and Editing Software for Windows from Pinnacle is a PCI video capture board with analog and digital inputs bundled with the Pinnacle Studio Plus video editing software suite for Windows. A breakout box for video and audio input and output, microphone and green screen backdrop are included with the card.
The card installs in a standard PCI slot and features composite, S-Video and FireWire input and output. Pinnacle Studio Plus is a user-friendly editing suite, making this an excellent choice for capturing and editing home movies for your computer.
- Powerful Editing Software
- The included Pinnacle Studio Plus software is powerful enough to work with still photos, music, narration and many types of video while retaining an ease of use that appeals to home users. It features tools to create titles, effects and transitions and can even help to improve footage taken with handheld cameras via the Pan-and-Zoom feature.
- HDV Support
- The included Pinnacle Studio Plus Titanium Edition software features support for the high-definition HDV video format. This lets you edit your HDV home movies so that you can share them with your family on an HDTV.
- Analog and DV Video Capture
- The capture card features a breakout box with composite and S-Video connections for input and output to analog sources. The breakout box also features RCA audio jacks for input and output. The card features a 6-Pin FireWire-400 port for communication with digital DV camcorders.
- Microphone and Green Screen
- A microphone and green screen backdrop are included with the editing package. These let you create video podcasts with dynamic backgrounds. This is perfect for the armchair reporter or to help create innovative school projects.
- iPod and PSP Output
- Pinnacle Studio features tools to output video in formats that are compatible with popular personal media player such as the Apple iPod with video and the Sony PSP. This lets you take the video you create with you wherever you go.

I use Studio Movieboard Plus for home movies and for various projects I've wanted to work on. It's great for menus. The capturing was more than expected, although I haven't figured out how to delete not wanted video clips. It has nice included sound effects, transitions, and movie effects, except it doesn't have a speed up or slow down effect or at least I havn't found it yet. I found that Studio Movieboard plus was a joy to use and it was better than expected. I would recommend it to any aspiring film maker who just wants to get started on his projects that have been lingering for 3 years.
