The Nikon MS-D200 AA Battery Holder provides users of the Nikon D200 Digital Camera with the MB-D200 Multi-Power Battery Pack to use AA Batteries instead of the Nikon EN-EL3 Lithium-Ion Batteries. This is especially useful when shooting in cold weather. Also, many users will have more than one MS-D200 AA Battery Holder pre-loaded with Alkaline or NiMH Rechargeable batteries handy so they can quickly swap out battery sets.

I use three of this AA-battery 6-pack in addition to a pair of "EN" camera batteries. Especially when using large-capacity CF cards, on long days or on long trips, I start with one MS-D200 in the camera and a second and third MS-D200 in the camera bag, so I can keep shooting and recharge/reload later. You have to remember to tell the D200 what kind of AA battery is loaded, when switching between NiMH, alkaline, etc. (although you only get the battery %-charge icons with the "EN" camera batteries).
