Meade LightBridge 16" Dobsonian Telescope Kit

The Meade LightBridge 16" Dobsonian telescope is a powerful instrument for stargazing. If you are looking for light gathering and portability, the answer may lie with the choice of the Meade LightBridge 16" telescope. Its large diameter is excellent for light collection, and a large aperture is a definite advantage when you are looking for faint sky objects such as clusters and nebulae. It is truly user friendly and can be completely assembled or disassembled in minutes.

Although a powerful viewing tool, it is surprisingly portable and can be transported in the trunk of your car to your favorite location due to its modular construction. Its f/4.5 aperture is optically very bright, and offers the viewer detailed images of the moon, planets and other celestial bodies. In order to take full advantage of the telescope's focal length and considerable large aperture, the user may consider the optional purchase of a longer eyepiece such as a 40mm for viewing galaxies.

Its primary and secondary mirrors are specially aluminum coated with magnesium fluoride to produce increased brightness and contrast. This Dobsonian comes standard with Meade AutoStar Suite Astronomical Software. This software works in concert with the Meade AutoStar Suite and is equipped with tools for dome controls, weather sensor, and other functions required for this purpose.
