The RangeMax Wireless Router from Netgear combines the functions of a Cable/DSL router and a wireless access point into one compact device. It is designed for use in environments where wireless range is crucial. It uses Smart MIMO technology to give it a larger coverage area than standard routers.
The router allows you to share your Internet connection between several computers that can connect via a Super G or standard 802.11b/g wireless connection or via any of 4 wired RJ-45 Ethernet ports.
The router also features a firewall to protect you from malicious software that can attack your computer from the Internet, as well as wireless security to insure that your data remains private.
The router can achieve speeds of 108 Mbps when used with other Super G devices. It also supports speeds of up to 54 Mbps when communicating with standard 802.11g wireless devices and it is also fully backward compatible with devices that use the older 11 Mbps 802.11b standard. These features make the wireless router a great way to add wireless access to your home network.

Comments about Netgear RangeMax Wireless Router - 802.11b/g with Smart MIMO:
Very flaky, but good range and throughput while it is working. VPN passthrough drops a lot. The fixed timeserver is down a LOT which which make scheduled service blocking pretty much worthless. QOS is broken. Like most home wireless equipment, these last 12-18 months. I have been through 6 of them. Pretty average overall.

Comments about Netgear RangeMax Wireless Router - 802.11b/g with Smart MIMO:
I replaced a router that wasn't working with this one and it was easy to install and works fine. The only problem was that when I installed it, it somehow wiped out my wireless printer driver and I had to troubleshoot that for awhile before realizing I had to re-install the driver.
