The ProSafe VPN Firewall 200 from Netgear is a dedicated network firewall that also acts as a VPN endpoint and broadband router with dual WAN connectivity. The firewall protects your network from outside attacks while at the same time letting connected computers safely access the web.
It includes integrated support for Network Address Translation (NAT), Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI), Denial of Service (DoS) protection and Virtual Private Networking (VPN). It also features standard router functions and 8 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports and 1 Gigabit Ethernet port for device connectivity. This is an excellent choice to protect your network from dangerous attacks that can originate from the internet.
- 9-Port Firewall and Router
- The firewall features 8 LAN 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports, 1 Gigabit Ethernet port and 2 WAN Ethernet ports for Internet connectivity. Firewall functions include Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) Firewall and Denial of Service (DoS) protection. The device also supports Network Address Translation (NAT) and serves as a PPPoE client for Internet connectivity.
- Network Management
- The firewall supports SNMP network management via Telnet or a web interface. It also supports SSL remote management with user name and password protection. Events can be logged in a SYSLOG format and the device can even be configured to send e-mail alerts to system administrators.
- VPN Functions
- The device includes a VPN server that allows up to 200 clients to connect simultaneously. It supports IKE SA assignment with pre-shared key and RSA/DSA signatures for security. It also supports IPSec-based encryption and other common VPN security schemes.
