The Ruler Upgrade Kit enhances your ability to scan and protect your test charts by preventing the i1 device from coming in direct contact with the chart - thereby avoiding any possible smearing or scratching.
The ruler is usable as a standalone component or together with the backup board. The backup board provides an easy one-hand operation with a target clamp that holds substrates up to 3mm thick.
In addition, you'll also get a case to hold your i1 product and its accessories.

The case was an unexpected plus, it is great to keep all my colour calibration gear in one neat package. The board with the built in guide should make scanning the test images, certainly a big improvement over the previous rail.

This upgrade to the original i1 Photo is welcome, indeed! With the included folding "table" and new and improved ruler, one can scan even the large files effortlessly and quickly. Amazing how such a simple device removes the grunge from this task!
I would give it a 5-star rating except I think it is too expensive for what you get.
