This rubberized skin for the D80 is a great way to give your self a little extra piece of mind. The added shock protection comes in handy when you treat your equiptment as recklessly as I do.
The skin went on easily, fits well and I've still got access to all my needed controls. Plus, it makes an amateur "picture taker" end up looking like a "photographer" who knows what he's doing. Ya can't ask for any more than that. A somewhat transparent skin might be a bit better for eyeing the camera functions but so far I haven't had any real problems using it.
Some reviewers have stated they don't care much for the included lens hood but it fits well on my 18-200VR and doesn't impede the functions of the lens in any way.

This camera armor received a lot of good reviews, which is really why I bought it. I am, however, very disappointed.
The day I received it, I put it on the camera (it is very hard to put on) and took it off half an hour later. Now it's sitting in my drawer and I will never, ever use it.
This thing might be good if you're an amateur who's simply looking for a way to care less about the way you treat your camera. However, if you're a power user and you demand a lot from a product like this, you will be disappointed.
Sure, it's a pretty thick piece of rubber and provides some shock absorption for your camera, but it really gets in the way. It completely covers most buttons, therefore making it a lot harder to press them in situations where you really have no time to sit and fiddle with it; it gets frustrating. It simply crippled my camera way too much to justify its usefulness.
Furthermore, the rubber gathers dust and it's kind of hard to clean, plus it doesn't feel very good in your hands. Another thing that bothered me was the fact that the lens protector causes vignetting when I put it around my 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6.
Overall, it serves the purpose, which is to protect your camera. Otherwise, it makes everything else you do with the camera a lot harder.

This was the best value investment to protect my expensive Nikon camera. Custom fit to the camera, helps with sun glare and really protects the camera body and the lens! Very happy photographer!

This is a great product for outdoor use. I am a Fly fishing guide and my cameras get knocked around. It does a great job of protecting the camera from bumps and bruises. I can throw it in the back seat without worry. The cover for the screen is very a very nice feature. On the negative side it does cover up the controls buttons so it is important to know you way around the camera. You do have to remove the lens to put on the armor all in all a very nice product and the price is right.

The manufacture is out of business at the current time, and their web site is dead[...]This protects the appearance of your camera and keeps moisture and scratches off the frame, as well as protects the LCD on the back. I doubt that it would protect if from a drop, but probably from careful outdoor use. I wanted a way to grip the camera more easily and keep the frame pristine, and this does the trick. Learn the camera commands first, as they are covered by the Armor. Get one before they are not available.

I bought this after I dropped my D80, thinking it was cheap protection. Fits fine, doesn't get in the way.

This is a great buy. Caring for your gear is a must in my book and this cover fits great and does the job. Makes the camera feel great in your hands. I gave it 4 stars because it does not fit well with my battery grip. Otherwise its perfect. My camera will last a lifetime..

I wanted to bring my camera everywhere. Now I'm not afraid to knock it.
The button are easy access, and are identified. The only problem, the dust sticks to the rubber. It should therefore be washed occasionally. More or less compatible with the tripod attachment

If you want to practise good "safe photography" this rubber item is for you!
This is a well engineered camera body cover which does not impede the operation of all camera controls.

Wonderful for use in the tropics where my perspiration makes holding onto the camera difficult in the humid air.

The camera armor is a great fit. It really does what it says, and helps to protect the camera from scratches and dings. I also does not interfere with functioning of buttons and controls. The only potential problem is the piece that fits on the end of the lense. It interferes a little with the ability to manually focus the lense. Other than that, it's a GREAT buy!

I bought the armor as i am traveling around the world for 3 month. The armor fits well, you get good access to all the buttons through the skin. Only negative is that it makes the camera body thicker and it does fit as well in my hand, but i do not think there would be any way around that. I would definitely buy again.

Very simple to install, makes the grip feel more comfortable. The only problem is it doesn't work well if you have the additional battery grip installed. They will both go on the camera at the same time, however the battery grip isn't protected.

I use this on my nikon D80. It is a great camera protector however the rubber magnetized all kinds of unpleasant dirt, dust, sand and lint! This armor is not sensor friendly. Those of you who want pristine and dirt free images will need to make a compromise: leave the lens permanently in the camera or not use this armor at all.
When I took my D80 for Sensor cleaning, the first thing I was told was "throw this thing away! It attracts more dirt than you can imagine."

Care and use! Protect your equipment. You can still use the buttons but will cover the text on them. Learn you camera then put the rubber skin on it.

The biggest item I missed in selecting the D80 was the weatherseals offered by Pentax. While this system does not weatherproof the camera, it does provide just that little bit extra to prevent dust and moisture intrusion in those environments. No, it's not going to take pictures in a monsoon - but its worth the small price to pay for a bit of protection from the elements.

Comments about Nikon D80 Camera Armor (Black):
Besides the advertised protection from impact and scratches, Camera Armor also gives the camera body a more generic look (which may deter thieves).
The additional layer makes the body a bit more bulky, which suits me fine, as I have big hands.
One slight drawback: while it does let you access all the controls and doors, some doors require a bit fiddling.

I AM A SURF PHOTOG WHICH MEANS I SHOOT ALOT ON THE BEACH. ALTHOUGH THE CAMERA ARMOR PROTECTS THE CAMERA FROM SALT SPRAY, IT IS A LITTLE BULKY.

the armor has an awesome look and puts a whole new feel to the camera! I had no problems putting the armor on my d80! The camera armor rides a little high with the battery pack and its armour though. All in all a great investment for protecting your camera!

Comments about Nikon D80 Camera Armor (Black):
The armor is bulky and takes getting used to. It seems to protect adequately. The camera's buttons are covered up by rubber protective areas, but can be pressed with no problem (if you remember which does what). I have not given up on it, will need to use it more to see if it hinders the photographing process.
