Comments about DSC Labs FrontBox College:

I thought it was a typo when the product description said "non-flare" instead of non-glare. Go to the company's faq for a complete discussion.

While the chip chart is very good quality, it is difficult to get a clean waveform because the surface is so reflective. For electrical adjustment of cameras I agree with the statement on the chart "For critical engineering applications, use DSC's regular CamAligns..."

The backfocus chart works just fine.

Comments about DSC Labs FrontBox College:

The DSC Labs FBC chart is nearly indestructible and resists fingerprint damage very well. However, one must consider the protective surface's reflectivity before one can get an accurate color balance. A flag or duvetyne is required beneath the lens with the FBC chart tilted slightly forward to mask any reflections in the chart before you color balance or paint the camera. A monitor is preferred to the viewfinder for making sure the (lack of) reflection of the fabric/flag fully fills the frame, masking any unwanted reflection that will alter color balance. Only then are the blacks deep and flat, and do the gammas and knees reproduce accurately. Care must still be taken to avoid scratching the surface, as an accumulation of foreign marks will also effect gamma, black and ultimately, color balance.
