The DVX Book/DVD is the ultimate training package for the Panasonic AG-DVX100, DVX100A and DVX100B camcorders. It presents a comprehensive examination of the camera, all its settings and modes, and tutorials on some of the most common situations DVX users find themselves facing.
Over 155 pages! The award-winning DVX DVD offers over 50 minutes of information, comparisons and tutorials, some of which include: Tutorials on subjects like how to achieve the shallow depth of field look; and how the frame rates compare, how to achieve perfect slow motion, and how to get new frame rates of 12P and 15P in addition to 24p, 30p and 60i!
Comparisons: real-world footage showing the DVX using the mini35(TM), side-by-side comparisons between the DVX and film, the DVX vs. a consumer high-definition camera, and letterbox vs. Anamorphic vs. Squeeze Mode. Menu Settings: A comprehensive examination of all the menu settings, and a special "cookbook" of settings combinations that make the DVX able to emulate in-camera many of the looks contained in Magic Bullet(TM) Movie Looks(TM)!
The included DVX Book goes into much more detail about tips, explanations and techniques of how the DVX cameras work, why they do what they do, and how you can use them best; a detailed examination of all the camera's menu options and settings, what the options mean, and when/why you'd want to use each one; and thorough examinations of all the camera's features, switches, and levers, how they work, how they interact, and how to use the camera for best results.
Additionally, the book presents comprehensive tutorials on aperture, shutter speed, depth of field, progressive scan, interlace artifacts, and many, many more subjects, and specifically how they relate to the DVX100 cameras. The DVX Book is written in plain language that makes it easy to understand for users of all levels. Technical issues are described in ways that make them approachable and practical to even the most non-technical users.

Comments about Books Book/DVD: The DVX Book:
If you have a DVX100 or DVX100A, you need to get this book. It describes in great detail all of the menu options and how they affect the imaging. The DVD is helpful, too, since it demos that effects that different setting have on the image.

Comments about Books Book/DVD: The DVX Book:
I didn't think I was going to use this book when I got my DVX100B camcorder, but BOY was I wrong. The instructions for the camcorder explain what buttons control what settings, but the DVX Book gets into detail about every feature the camera has, explains how it works and it gives you tips and tricks about everything!! Although the book hasn't been updated for the 100B model, it's not a big deal. I would ABOSUTELY recommend any user of the AG-DVX100a/b/ or /c get this book!

Comments about Books Book/DVD: The DVX Book:
While the book had some valuable insight, I would put the value at about $9.95-14.95 and no more. It gives more detail about the functions of the camera than what the manual does so in that regard, it is helpful as a reference tool. However, I genuinely feel robbed having paid [$]for this. The other reason it's not worth the price is because of the incredibly useless DVD that comes with it. This DVD couldn't have been more useless. It should have shown us the best uses of the camera features but it is just a collection of info directly from the book text (like an audio book but with video), or things we already would know by the time we buy a $3000 camera!
