If you aren't shooting Manual you will have a lot of miss fired shots with this system. You can't shoot faster than 1/180. If you are looking for a shutter speed faster than that don't get it. If you don't shoot manual don't get it. I shoot manual so it works but it is only Ok.

two complaints, the adaptor that you need to connect to the lights doesnt always work the first time you plug it in. once you get it working though its good all day.
the fastest you can shoot is 120. (Nikon D-200, using 18-200mm lens.)
other then that it does works fine but using it for 2 years now. going to a cybersynch though because i want to shoot outdoors and a power cord option is not always available. I never had to reschedule a shoot or was delayed for more then 5 minutes setting up.

This product is very easy to set up and work quite well– If you can get it working.

The problem is in the EXTREMELY cheap cord and adapter that connect the trigger to the light. These do not fit together well and may not form a proper circuit. I've had to fiddle with them and twist them around every time I use the system in order to get a connection; just plugging it in isn't reliable. Once you've maneuvered the parts into just the right position, it works fine.

Additionally, the entire casing is made of very cheap plastic and seems ready to just fall apart if handled too roughly.

The product works well enough, but there is no excuse for such cheap construction.

Misfire-Misfire-Misfire!!! Been using these things for the past three days on location for a major advertising project and they are totally unreliable. Only used them because they were supplied by the production company. My advice, spend the extra money on the pocket wizard. I've used the pocket wizard for years without problems. The Impact slaves don't have the range of the pocket wizard and the receiver on the impact AC slave has a funky way of hooking up to the power pack in line with the main AC power chord. In addition you then have to run the PC chord from the receiver to the pack so when there is a problem with misfires it is difficult to track down the problem (loose connections between the receiver and AC in or AC out chord or bad PC chord). Also the dip switches for channel selection are easily moved out of position when moving packs from set to set requiring you to place gaffers tape across them in order to prevent signal conflicts between receiver and transmitter. You may have to buy two AA batteries for a pocket wizard but the system is way less complicated and vastly more reliable.

Ok. I think I learned the lesson.
I had an accident on a lake and two receivers were damaged by water. I said, no problem, I bought a kit transmitter and receiver, and another receiver for separate. The new transmitter fires alone, and when I touched the male pc socket ubicated on front . I cut the wires of thar pc socket and i though, Ok, i found the problem and I never use that port. Ok, I started working and it was not compatible with the old recievers of the same impact kit. Trying, I realized that the channels were mixed, for example. if the transmitter it was with the 4 up, in the old reciever works with the 2 up, things like that. A disaster, but I thought that I fixed the problem. Then, in a catalog of underwear, I had a lot of miss shots and I had to switch to cable. Actually I think I was very lucky with my first kit. Now I am waiting for a new Bowens Pulsar triggering system kit, Because you can't work with missshots. it's the worst thing that can happen with models.

Better spend your money on pocket wizards, Bowens pulsar or quantum systems. They really work!l as I said before. I learnerd the lesson.

I use to work with pocketWizard, and It was great, but one day, one of my pocketWizard's stop working after two years of work, Ok, two years it's to much time working three days/week. and a friend told me about this small, cheap, and portable system. I was buying on B&H the PocketWizard replacement to keep working, and I saw the Impact. Less than U$100, and I buy it with three recievers more for less than U$250. The price of just one PocketWizard. So if you don't trust in the quality, buy three systems , and you never gonna be in problems.

It never miss Shots, or I don't know if I was very lucky with mine..
Another cool thing it's the Battery. You don't have to turn on/off the transmitter, and the battery life it's amazing. And the recievers DON'T NEED BATTERY, That's excellent!!!.
So, for me it's more that perfect...

I got tired of tripping over my 15' PC chord (which once almost ended in the loss of some equipment!) so I broke down and went wireless.

Most of the products out there were either incompatible with my 10 yr old strobes or just too "feature rich" for my humble budget. This system has yet to miss a beat and even worked around a corner. Gotta love that!

never had missfire. I use it indoors to triger 2-3 strobs .

Your pc cord will give you better results. Spend your money on the pocket wizard. You will miss too many shots with this unit and look bad doing it. The unit will misfire from two feet away. Lesson learned; you get what you pay for.

Sure beats dragging around a pc cord. Great idea although I wish I spent a bit more money and got a better unit. This unit misfires at least 1 out of every 8 or 10 shots. Pc cord from unit fits very loosely in my D-200. I bought a D-300 and have the same loose fit. This unit is not bad for the money but if you want reliability move up to a better unit.
