I bought a pack of these sleeves to use when shooting outdoor sports in the rain. I'm not a pro photographer and couldn't justify the expense of the superior Aquatech rain gear. I needed something small and light that fits in my camera backpack and keeps me shooting during poor weather conditions I occasionally encounter. If you do a lot of shooting in questionable weather and can justify the $200 cost, the Aquatech is obviously a better solution. But for [$] the Op/Tech sleeves are hard to beat in a pinch, particularly for casual photographers. The sleeves are large enough to cover most all but the largest of the pro telephoto lenses. It fits my D300 with battery pack and 70-200 2.8 with room to spare. The sleeve has a hole in the rear - just remove your eyepiece cover, stretch the hole over the eyepiece, and replace the cover to hold it in place. The sleeve has a drawstring closure in front that holds very securely to the lens hood. The plastic is transparent and thin enough to allow operation of all the controls right through the sleeve (vs, sliding your hands up inside). It's a very usable solution, although it does make adjusting the zoom a bit more difficult. But again, this is intended to be more of an emergency or occasional rain solution.I've spent endless hours shooting football games in the rain and the protection provided is excellent. As long as you don't poke a hole in it, your equipment will stay dry. I'm able to reuse them multiple times.Pros: Very low cost, stores anywhere, excellent protection, low tech ease of use, able to see all of the camera's controls, works with tripods and monopods.Cons: Takes a few minutes to put on and get adjusted, makes accessing some controls a little awkward (but not impossible), far too long for short lenses.Bottom line: Excellent emergency protection during occasional bad weather for cameras with larger lenses. Those using smaller lenses should look for another solution.

Basically a plastic bag with a drawstring. Still the price is right, they give you 2 and it has a ready made hole for your viewfinder.

Comments about OP/TECH USA 18" Rainsleeve (Set of 2):
If you are looking for a very compact rain sleeve you can carry in just about any pocket of your camera bag or for that matter, in your pocket, this is it. There's plenty of room for even your full size SLR camera and it even fits mine with the extra battery pack/grip attached to the botom AND the tri-pod shoe attached to that! There's plenty of room for your hand to be inside holding the camera and pushing control setting buttons and wheels. It's so simple yet very effective in a pinch. And you can't beat the price for a pack of two!

Comments about OP/TECH USA 18" Rainsleeve (Set of 2):
This is a good cheap way to make sure you have something to protect your camera. It is light and unobtrusive in your camera bag, fits fairly well, and lets you see all your controls (or LCD if you're one of those digital types). Loses one star because it uses drawstring tightening and not elastic, which gets in the way less.

If you only occasionally shoot in messy weather, this is great protection for the money. In fact, it's so inexpensive compared to repair bills that it's foolish NOT to have one stashed in your camera bag. Some of the best light happens in the worst weather!

Two for under $10.00. Second one came in handy for a friend who had not brought any protection against the elements. Great product to have in your bag.

A plastic grocery bag would work about as well.
The draw string closure fits too loose to be effective for blowing dust or rain. The device is one size fits all which means it is way to large for most DSLRs

I have been caught so many times in my travels using a plastic bag to cover my Nikon DLSR with external flash that I decided to buy its own raincoat.

I looked at other weather protection and for the price these are the best bet. I do a lot of photography on the beach so I need something to keep the spray off . I used one when Hurricane Irene was just off the coast .

I used this rainsleeve during a rain shower. It is light and flexible, able to cover the whole camera and my hands inside. There is an opening for the eye piece to lock it in place without interfering the eye sight.

Comments about OP/TECH USA 18" Rainsleeve (Set of 2):
I often hike in rainy weather and was hoping these would help. They do, but they won't keep the camera dry while it is hanging from a strap around your neck, as the open end of the sleeve is then facing upwards. I bought 3 packs of these but have only opened one. There are 2 in each pack. One of them didn't have the little hole for the viewfinder. A half-gallon freezer bag would work almost as well. I should just get a Pentax K5!

Comments about OP/TECH USA 18" Rainsleeve (Set of 2):
Seems flimsy and lightweight, but going on a cruise and a rain cover which is cheap and easily carried is worth the "extra" protection from water and salt air. Sleeve is so large that you could put several DSRLs in it at the same time, but allows you to use with large cameras also. Being large also allows for lens movement during focusing. Get 2 sleeves for the low price. Large size leaves a lot of extra sleeve to deal with when taking pictures.

This is good for a short term solution. I used it on a white water rafting trip. It was a bit cumbersome to attempt to fit the hole under the viewfinder...had to prepare in advance of any oncoming water. Also the drawstring at the end was a little unnerving. ..I wonder if I could have fixed up something a bit better with simply a long clear plastic bag and a rubber band. (the rubber band certainly would have made a tighter seal on the lens)But hey...it was only [$]....so it was ok.
