The HD-Connect SI HDV to HD/SD-SDI Converter from Convergent Design is designed to convert an HDV input to an HD/SD-SDI output. This unit is well suited to a broad variety of work, including the creation of tape dubs to DigiBeta or HDCAM.
This portable unit offers a cost-effective solution for converting HDV material from Sony, JVC, or Canon decks or camcorders to uncompressed HD/SD-SDI. Moreover, it embeds both audio and time-code during the conversion process. You can connect the HD/SD-SDI output to an NLE system and convert HDV/DV to DVCProHD, DNxHD or uncompressed HD/SD in real-time. This functionality helps eliminate long GOP and long render times.
This unit also converts RS-422 deck commands to 1394, allowing your HDV deck or camcorder to be directly controlled from an editing application. This converter also supports offline/online workflows and batch captures. Achieving tape dubs from HDV to HDCAM or DigiBeta entails only a single coax connection via the HD/SD-SDI cable.
This unit has been verified to work with the following products: Avid Adrenaline HD, Avid DS Nitris, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro (with AJA or Blackmagic Card),
Adobe Premiere, Media 100, and Quantel products.
