Comments about Surefire Grip Switch Assembly DG-11:

The DG-11 switch (#11) is the one designed for Glock pistols (all models with the accessory rail). It installs by replacing the hinged tail-cap on the battery compartment for the Surefire X200 (weapons light) and X400 (weapons light + laser aimer). Installation takes only several minutes, and is a drop-in replacement (that does not require special fitting or gunsmithing). The switching functions of the original tail-cap are preserved (i.e. continuous activiation by turning the ambidextrous toggle, and momentary activation by forward pressing the toggle assembly), plus a new one is enabled: natural / spontaneous activation of the X200/X400 when gripping the pistol host. The new function is enabled by a "tape switch" / "remote activation pad" that is artfully concealed in an insulated support arm that extends from the X200/X400 tail cap to just beneath the trigger guard of the pistol. The support arm is perfectly contoured to the pistol's profile and fully enclosed and electrically insulated with a rubberized covering. No adhesives are velcro pads are needed to affix the remote activation pad to the pistol. By being perfectly formed to the contours of the pistol, it almost seems to become a part of the pistol itself, and is therefore very unobtrusive and very snag-free.The natural / spontaneous activation -- from the middle finger of the shooting hand pressing onto the raised "button" at the end of the support arm -- is extremely useful for tactical applications where light/laser and gun need to be "ready" and "available" at the same time. I have the DG-11 switch installed with a Surefire X400, and it enhances the operational / tactical usefulness of the X400 light + laser ten-fold. It allows me to keep eyes / attention / focus on the target (versus having to shift eyes and weapons hold to activate light + laser). The placement of the activation button / switch is also naturally ambidextrous, and will suit right-handed and left-handed shooters equally well. The design of the DG-11 is ingenious; and the build quality and quality of materials is exceptional (i.e. will withstand heavy field use and harsh weather conditions, and will remain ergonomic to the user in those conditions). As useful as this DG-11 switch is, it is surprisingly hard to find for sale and "in stock," even on the Internet. Even the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) was "out of stock" on this item. [...]A picture is worth a thousand words. A photo of the DG-11 switch (from BH Photo / Video) on my Glock pattern pistol can be found at the following link [to a generic image-hosting web site]: [@]
